The award winning Hughenden (circa 1870) is a gracious historic hotel at the heart of Woollahra, in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Associated with Australia's first philosopher, The Hughenden experienced many changes from grand residence to Masonic Hall to Ladies College. In 1993, The Hughenden commenced a programme of extensive restoration, redeveloping it into a beautiful boutique hotel. The last refurbishment in 2017 refreshed the hotel whilst preserving its old-world grandeur and character. The historic features such as the marble fireplaces, the original grand staircase, and servant bells are still prevalent today. Visitors are welcome to experience the warmth, charm and personal service offered by our hotel. With 32 Heritage Rooms, Pet Friendly Accommodation, Cafe, Lounge Bar and Event spaces, The Hughenden has unique offerings for all to experience and enjoy.

Very unhappy experience. Incorrect date was booked for my stay. Tried calling a number of times to hotel phone number to amend but went staight to voicemail. Messaged on booking.com multiple times and only received a reply the morning after the incorrect date of stay and following the hotel debiting my account for the full fare. The response was that a refund is not able to be offered.

The Hughenden is in an awesome location. Environment and rooms clean and comfortable. Bath is fantastic. The shortened reception hours attributed to COVID is disappointing. Whilst we were busy and only there overnight I missed being able to say hello to staff as we came and left the hotel at various times. It seems that as much of the check in and check out procedure as possible has been automated. For me, staying in a Boutique Hotel is about personal service and attention, and this simply felt as though it had been minimised as much as possible. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But then given the level of service and the room rate, I'd probably look for an Airbnb for about the same price in the area. The only expectation then is a clean property.

As it did last time we stayed here, it feels like we are coming home. Lovely staff and cosy clean environment. Awesome older, historic boutique hotel. Great location. Great value. Can’t wait to come back again.

We really enjoyed this lovely old mansion accommodation which is situated in Queen Street across from Centennial Park and close to the SCG where we were seeing an AFL match. We loved the easy walk to the ground and when we came back went to the local Woollahra Hotel for dinner. A fabulous hotel with a great menu and only a short walk from the Hughenden accommodation. The room we had was the Manor Suite and it was spacious and comfortable for an overnight stay. Off street parking is handy and costs $33. We liked the leafy street with a nice safe feel and the hotel has good security systems so night access is via a coded gate. You also get a $10 voucher each to have a coffee and breakfast snack in the morning. The coffee was excellent along with friendly and efficient service.

Thankyou for looking after us. Clean, friendly and in a great location for us. The breakfasts were nice and the staff very helpful in accommodating our large car in the tight parking spaces. Nothing was too much trouble, including extra towels.
