The hotel building itself is very pretty and you can enjoy a glass of wine with your dogs in front of the fire near reception. The waiter on Saturday night was great with the dogs. We had room 36 and boy was it tiny and claustrophobic. Tiny bed, no window to the outside and door basically opened onto the bed. Definitely the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in worldwide. Perhaps we were unlucky with our room allocation but we changed our stay from 3 nights to 1 as we couldn’t cope being in such a tiny space. Perhaps more suited to a single person than a couple. I would suggest since they advertise as such a dog friendly hotel that they include a water bowl at the very least with the room. We actually chose it as it was marketed as a dog hotel and we wanted to treat our…
It was the first holiday with our puppy and we all had a great time. The staff were excellent and our puppy felt right at home, so did we. It was great being able to have our puppy with us in the restaurant.
A lovely old modernised 1870s hotel that oozes charm. Staff were very friendly and accommodating (pardon the pun). Our particular room was small but quiet - perfectly good enough for a night or two stay & included a firm mattress, TV, free wifi, bar fridge, phone, tea & coffee making facilities, ironing board, extra blankets & reverse cycle aircon/heater. The shower in the modern ensuite provided instant hot water with good pressure. There are even pet-friendly rooms available! The continental buffet breakfast included in the room price featured cereals, regular & skim milk, breads, croissants, various condiments, fresh fruit, yoghurts, fruit juices and hot water for tea or coffee. Off-street car parking is available at the hotel for an extra nightly charge. Location is…
We stay at the Hughendon regularly as we have moved to Port Macquarie but still come to Sydney for ongoing medical treatment etc.Our dog comes with us as the Hughendon is dog friendly. The hotel is always clean and and tidy and the staff are friendly and accommodating.
I loved living at The Hughenden for one month and was going to stay for two more months if it was not for the global pandemic now unfolding. I am grateful to all the beautiful, kind and professional people who work at this world-class hotel. I felt welcomed and taken care of everyday. I will be back to Sydney and stay there to relive the fondest memories. My room was the charming Terrace Suite that opened to the private and quiet sun deck: three palm trees and stunning trees where thousands of birds came to sing everyday dotted the view. It was peaceful and restful. This place has abundant charm: every detail is thought out. Lovely cafe that serves breakfast. Baristas are always there to seduce with new creations. The neighborhood is the best in Sydney! There is really nothing…
