Solo business trip, I arrived after 10pm and relied on google maps as it was dark and I was unfamiliar with the area.
The entry to the car park wasn’t quite clear, whilst in front of the hotel building, they were pretty dark. So I parked under a light. If you have a lot of luggage it would be best to drive up to the hotel first.
The hotel lobby is quite striking on entry and grander than expected for the location. I received an incredibly warm and efficient welcome and the gentleman at the desk organised me a hot chocolate before the bar closed, which was such a nice gesture and gave it to me free of charge. I didn’t get to use my free Accor welcome drink so it was appreciated.
I think I got an upgrade to a bigger / corner room, I booked a superior. Although looking over the garbage bins and to the road on the 8th floor, there was not a peep of sound to be heard. The room was large and comfortable, a real contemporary country aesthetic with an equestrian theme- fit for the pages of a magazine. With 4 similar pillows on the bed and an additional in the wardrobe, it would be nice to have a variety offered - firm / foam etc as they were all quite big.
Checking the pool deck on level 9 before breakfast it was a great space with a view of the track. When heading down to the Newmarket restaurant after I was mildly disappointed that there was no view. The decor is nice though and the staff friendly and attentive. The only option was buffet which includes an espresso coffee or going to the cart in the lobby to go., would be nice to have an a la Carte option for those that are not big breakfast eaters.
Business doesn’t bring me to the area often, but I would stay again if needed and mention it to people who may..

The hotel is a little bit out of the way - unless you're going to the races but that makes it nice and quiet. Open air car park with plenty of spots (may be different on a race day). It's been 2 years since our last stay here but we were welcomed back as Accor Gold members.
Nice top floor room was very large, quiet and comfortable. Welcome choccies were appreciated but only one bottle of water?
Air con was silent, wifi worked well, outlook from the room was pleasant and the neighbourhood is quiet. We slept well. Quality toiletries. Silent fridge (but not real cold and no freezer). Plenty of powerpoints beside bed.
Everything was clean. We didn't have breakfast.
The bathroom was one of those glass door things (which I don't like) but I believe they have "normal" bathrooms if you request them. I must remember to do that next time. (I wish the Accor app allowed space for booking comments.)
Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and efficient.
The biggest issue for us is the restaurant is boring - nice but boring. If we stayed here for a week we'd run out of dishes we want to eat after the first night and there are no alternatives nearby. They do accept Accor Plus dining benefit which is a real plus.

Usually book a staycation beginning/ end of month due to craziness of work, and need to lock myself away with no distractions, to get my work completed.
William Inglis generally is the favourite now as has everything I need. Accommodation is modern, amenities - you have the restaurant, bar, cafe, rooftop pool.
I would have given 5 stars but 4 stars as the cleanliness of the rooms could have more attention to detail. The 1st time stayed there was so tired didn’t bother requesting another room smelt like onions, wish I did cause I kept waking up throughout the night.
The 2nd stay which was recent stay - no onion smell but the desk was sticky and not wiped down. Not a big deal, but it’s my work station for the next 2 nights, and when you 1st check into the room you want that freshness feeling and set up what you need to do to relax, and in my case get through all my work so I can relax.
Positive note everything else was good, roof top pool was great. Restaurant was good too considering restaurants around the area is all fast food.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we celebrated both my bday and NYE in Sydney last month. Paid over $800 for our stay but service received is substandard. For one, no complimentary water was given. When we asked, we were told to get water from tap (we don't drink tap water) otherwise we need to order water. No slippers provided and no one available to help us with our luggage (seems to be a common phenomenon in Australia even for 5 star resorts or hotels). I don't know why hospitality/service in AU is sooo bad. Before, when we book hotels for a special occasion, we usually always get complimentary cake or wine, but we didn't get any this time despite the receptionist checking my license when we checked in on the night of my bday. Didn't even receive a bday greeting. The next day we saw that some of their guests did receive complimentary wine so I wonder why we didn't get any... Are they choosing which guests should receive better treatment based on some sort of criteria we know nothing about? Anyways, wouldn't bother staying here again next time.

We had a sensational night at the hotel recently. Great service from the very first moment of check in. Very comfortable room with lovely views. We were there for a special birthday event where the food, wine and service was first class. Incredible and unique venue made for a very memorable night. Lunch at the restaurant was great: the set menu was excellent value and the atmosphere was intimate due to the comfy booths. We also had a delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend the William Inglis.

An invite to Christmas lunch at the William Inglis prompted a four day escape from cooking and travelling. Although there was a lot of driving from and back to Coffs Harbour and some visits to friends and relatives along the way. The longer stay was an attempt to miss the mass exodus from Sydney after Christmas. Alas, It did not happen. All I can say is that the relaxed break provided the fortitude for dealing with the crawling traffic and its drivers on Saturday the 28th. With little travel during 2024, we had not visited the hotel for about 12 months. Nevertheless, the welcome was still like coming home and new staff at reception and in the dining room were as cordial, friendly and attentive as we have come to expect from the Williiam Inglis. Of course Louis was on deck to manage the special lunch in the Big Barn which went very well. Too much to eat and drink as expected, and an overall lovely experience over three hours. Congratulations to Louis and the catering team. Our stay in an upgraded room with a range of welcoming treats was nice as always and we thank outr hosts for their attention to such details. Although absent for a Christmas rest we would like to thank Belinda Thomson, General Manager, and Samatha Plant, Operations Manager, for their thoughtful extra treats on Boxing Day. We certainly felt privileged. We hope our thanks and good wishes were passed on. And last, but not least, thank you for looking after the car's needs.

My absolute favourite Hotel in NSW, maybe even Australia.
Where to start?!
Ive been to the hotel a few times and the team have always been wonderfull and professional. The rooms are always tidy and stick to the equine theme very well. Each room is named after an exceptional horse and the interior design is like a luxury stable. The floor has race horses hidden in it as well. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to get a view of the race track as well.
The bed is extremely comfy and the bath is just bliss.
The restaurant can be abit pricey but it is well worth it! Still takes the cake for the best steaks ive ever had.
If I ever have an event to attend in Sydney I now just book here because to stay is always good and the parking is easy and free .

The rooms are extra large. Did not like the opaque glass doors on the shower and toilet as these are open and viewable from the bedroom. We had a problem with the air conditioning as it was set at 25 and we could not change this. We asked numerous staff members several times to have maintenance come and check this and all them were apologetic and said they would have this attended to straight away but never did. My last request was to at least supply a fan as the room was stifling but again no one sent a fan. We stayed 2 nights and requested for our room to made up and this did not happen either. The pool area was good but again staff were extremely slow with food and beverage orders. When I advised the staff of my issues during check out they did not seem too interested. Overall for the price it should have been better and the staff more caring. Very disappointing. Cannot recommend this hotel because of this.

We were looking forward to returning to one of our favourite Sydney hotels for over a year and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed like old friends, and were so grateful to have been upgraded to room 405 for our three night stay, the room was immaculate and we just loved waking up each morning and watching the horses exercise from the bedroom window.
To top it all off Points and Nights were posted within 24 hours, we were very impressed. A big thank you to all who made our return memorable, thank you so much.

The hotel and rooms are fantastic, beds are super comfy and they have a pillow menu which this time I didn’t use. Amenities in the room are great except the very small iron boards! with complimentary bottled water great coffee and tea selections. Staff were very warm and friendly. The only negative for my stay was the restaurant! Breakfast on one morning was order from the menu, I had the big breakfast. Unfortunately the bacon was unchewable it appears they pre cook the bacon( I know this as there was a tray of cooked bacon sitting on show in the kitchen) mushrooms were so dry they were inedible there is a large clear panel where you can see the chefs/cooks working. Probably a good idea to not have all the pre cooked food and large cuts of precooked beef in food trays on show. Breakfast this time was a definite miss. I ordered some room service Panco breadcrumb chicken burger. This one was fried for too long and burnt a lot on the edges with a stale roll. I thought I’d give them another chance and had a minute steak that appears to have been cooked for 10 mins each side it was burnt to a cinder. On the waitstaffs defence they were very apologetic but I waited long enough I didn’t want to wait for a new meal. I did notice a lot of room service plates in the halls had a lot of food still on them. For a near 5 star hotel they have some serious issues here with their restaurant that requires some immediate repairs. Stay away from the pastry’s at the ground floor cafe too they are pretty old and soft. Coffee at the cafe was excellent.
Lots of negative but only really about the food, oh and the bar list has beer priced at $9 when infact they are $10.
Perfect rooms though, I wouldn’t return for non business stays when the Mercure 20 mins away is far superior and also an Accor owned hotel
