Rydges Parramatta have a new check in system, all digital with no human interaction. This was great for us as we arrived late (10pm)
You use a kiosk to generate your room key.
There are receptionists for those unable to use the kiosk.
The sofa bed was made up for the kids and Rydges provided extra towels/ amenities
They even provided cute Easter packs (colouring/plush toy)
Sound proofing is non existent in these rooms
Shower pressure very light
Room was spacious enough for 4 people
The rydges dream bed has changed, it was uncomfortable
And the air con wasn't cooperating
Staff were very lovely at the breakfast buffet, expensive for a family of 4 $90 with PGR and missing breakfast items
Morning of departure the hotel left Easter eggs on our door front (I thought this was so lovely)
Check out was via kiosk, very simple and quick
This stay was much better than last!
It is not the worse place I have stayed, but for the price, it fails a little short
The GOOD
-Beds are amazing. So soft, it felt like sleeping on a cloud. Some hate this I have read, but we just adored it.
-15 minutes to Olympic Park as we attended an event there.
-dining room has nice meals.
The BAD
- Very minor complaint and may even sound silly, but 3 females and 1 roll of toilet paper and no spare rolls anywhere. Yes, reception was called, but seriously, how simple is it to leave a roll of two spare.
-3 people we paid for but got only 2 towels, 1 facecloth and 1 hand towel. Yes, called reception when I noticed a towel missing, but by the time we got home from dance competitions, it was then we noticed lack of face clothes and handtowels. Minor issue to some but should never be an issue. This is basic housekeeping 101.
- not very clean. Old tissue under bed.
-generally looking run down and could do with an upgrade.
-unless going to racecourse opposite there is nothing around the hotel
-parking expensive. Told they charge to stop neighboring units parking there, so surely a code, a ticket could be given to the people paying to stay. Being a member should also be good enough to include free parking. Good idea???
-major complaint, is gym does not open till 6 am. We were up at 5 am and wanted to use it, as advertised . It advertises a gym, but its closed. Most gym people go to gyms early

The in-room fridges are either non-functional or stop working shortly after use. Despite informing the staff, the only response was that maintenance had been notified, but no action was taken. The cleanliness is appalling—carpets are dirty and dusty, walls are unclean, and curtains appear to be unwashed.
The TVs in the rooms are outdated, unable to pick up free-to-air channels, and lack compatibility with streaming services like Netflix. The air-conditioning system is unreliable, functioning only part-time and shutting off entirely when you leave the room.
While most staff are courteous and appear to do their best with the limited resources available to them, the property itself falls far short of acceptable standards. It is outrageous that such a poorly maintained hotel is marketed as a 4.5-star property, and the rates charged are completely unjustifiable. This establishment does not deserve any positive rating, and management should be deeply ashamed of the current state of their facility.
Very quite room, with comfortable large bed, plus block out curtains for a good nights sleep.
Go green option to limit towel washing and room service, with a $10 a day credit (for restaurant or bar).

We were very surprised to find a random upgrade to the penthouse suite this time around!
It was a shame check in and out are completely digital now and we couldn't thank anyone for the upgrade.
Rydges Penthouse suite has beautiful views of Parramatta and the City
While quite run down and a few major cracks in the walls, the rooms were spacious and comfortable
We love Rydges dream beds and this one was brilliant.
We didn't have much interaction with staff but when we spoke with the breakfast staff they were welcoming.
The breakfast buffet is worth the $35 a head
Also if traveling to Olympic Park for concerts, Rydges Parramatta usually hosts a shuttle at $30 a head (highly recommended!!!!)
The major downfall is they now charge for parking :( $20 per night

My favourite thing about the hotel was its new self check in and check out. The kiosk was easy to use and so fast compared to normal check in procedures.
The room itself was as advertised, clean and quiet. Breakfast was overpriced for the value but I’d stay again and skip the buffet.
The motel itself is noisy. There’s a busy road outside, the aircon is so loud that I had to turn it off and people will tell you that I can sleep on a barbed wire fence. The rooms are not very sound proof either. I could hear the tv in the next room quite clearly.
The worst thing though was the little annoyances after a long day, there was no bottle opener to open a very expensive beer from the mini bar, there was no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom, there was no plug to fill the basin for a shave. All things that you want at the end of a long day and you arrive and need to shower and change and get out to dinner.
Like I said. Very ordinary.
