Citadines Connect Sydney Airport is a hit with flyers due to its close proximity to the domestic terminal, offering both convenience and unique plane-spotting views. Guests enjoy the modern, clean rooms, though some have mentioned minor cleanliness concerns. The service earns positive remarks for its friendliness and efficiency, especially at check-in, although the café's offerings could be enhanced. While the hotel's atmosphere is noted for its hip and stylish decor, the value is somewhat impacted by the additional costs for amenities and transport.

Location for the airport and Mascot station was ideal. Also the staff were welcoming and able to meet my needs when needed. The room was spacious enough for my stay and so was the bathroom. As I was visiting for business I needed reliable wifi and the wifi throughout the hotel had a good signal and download speed throughout the week I stayed there. The hotel is a short walk from some fast food chains and restaurant s which was handy as there is no restaurant in this hotel.

I stayed a week and my bed sheets weren't cleaned on occasions when I felt they should have been. I waited for the shuttle bus as per the hotel instructions but the bus did not come and after 30 minutes I got a taxi to the hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night. Getting there from the Domestic Airport was a bit of a hassle as taxis charge way too much and while only 10-15mins walk, it was too much for us with luggage. We ended up taking the council bus one stop along the road then walked 5min.
To our surprise, Check-in/Reception is on the top floor along with a great Bar area offering spectacular views.
Our allocated room faced the street, looking at the airport and given the proximity there was no noise at all. We slept really well and found the bed and pillows very comfortable. The room itself was spacious enough for the night for two of us and the decor modern and groovy! The shower is good but leaked water all over the floor.
Bar service for coffee and drinks is available at various times of the day but if you want food, you purchase out of a machine, which we found to be very inconvenient and disappointing. We ended up going to another hotel down the street for a meal and breakfast the next morning.
Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights maximum if needing to be at the airport but advise to be prepared to spend on going out for meals and transport to/fro.

Excellent hotel. Very Comfortable beds , tea coffee making facilities, room safe , two racks for suitcases, a few clothes hangers . Nice bathroom with shower ( rain head) , toilet, basin. Iron and ironing board .
We had a view of the airport from our room (4th floor)
On arrival You need to go to the top floor for Reception and what a view to go with it !

Bar and eat and heat food avail 24 hrs.

No restaurant . You just pick a meal from the selection (Butter Chicken was tasty) , pay and then you heat in a microwave . Paninis, pancakes , toast etc available at a charge and you cook .
Super easy and tasty .

Bar facilities and cafe coffees available by a friendly staff member .

Have a drink/cocktail watching the airport or you can go to the city view side where there is an outdoor patio area with views to city along with a gas fire .

Plenty of 3 pin plugs and usb ports in the bar /lounge area .

A shuttle service is avail to the domestic and international airports . A$15pp one way . Start at 0500hrs (operated by a private operator) . To be pre booked and prepaid via reception .

Love this hotel and will be back. Highly recommend .

Cost was A$186 approx. Compared with downtown Sydney which has got expensive . We got an Uber from our downtown Hotel to here and it was approx A$44 (Tesla) but this will vary depending on time of day !! . Worked out cheaper for us than the shuttles and trains .

So citadines is a budget airport hotel that's about a ~10 minute walk to the train station in mascot and ~7 minute walk to the closest bus stop. We got there a bit earlier than expected. They were able to help with an easy check-in process, and staff were nice with every encounter we had. We had the economy premium, I think it was. Was a pretty tight fit, but we weren't too fussed. However, upon actually getting everything down, we found out it was pretty dusty in there. I understand a room isn't going to be 100% dust free. It's just that every surface was caked in dust, and then once I checked behind the TV, it was pretty eye-opening. One of us has asthma, so it was an issue. Normally I'm not the one to cherry pick, especially considering it was a budget hotel. We then let the service team know. We asked if there was a chance that they had a humidifier that they could chuck in the room while we were out, and they helped with switching us room. It was the same type of room, but it was with disability access. So it was more spacious, but there was still a dust issue, but it wasn't as bad as the original room. Honestly, I couldn't fault the hotel anywhere else just their cleaning team was letting them down a bit cause it honestly was 10/10 other than that. I can't give that, though, cause we had other issues like a blood stain on a pillow. We didn't have time to complain so we left the dirty pillow visible with the towels we had used and they were able to give us new towels but just kept the blood stained pillow but flipped it over and put it back on the bed under the top pillow.

Everything else was amazing. Customer service was great and helpful when we had issues. The design of the rooms was modern and matched the vibe of Sydney. The views were amazing, especially from the foyer (which was on the top floor a bit different), and they had a bar up there as well. It was perfect to sit down and have a drink before we went out. They have a movie night as well, but we didn't partake. Their telescope at first I thought was a bit gimmicky, but wow, did that thing see far and honestly added to the experience. If you're a light sleeper, you'll notice the planes landing and such, but it wasn't a problem for either of us. Had an express check out, which I honestly thought was handy. Beds were REALLY comfortable along with pillows.

Tldr; the PERFECT budget hotel let down by their cleaning team

The hotel is located within an easy 10 minute walk from the domestic terminal and features reasonable prices and compact comfortable rooms. We used it when transiting between a late night international arrival and an early morning domestic departure and it suited our purposes well. We were in the hotel for about 7 hours in total so our experience with the hotel is quite limited.

I have stayed at the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport on a couple of occasions, and have an upcoming reservation. I have only stayed at one other, somewhat larger, competing airport hotel, but there is something about the Citadines which keeps drawing me back.

Upon my initial arrival at the hotel, I was somewhat perplexed by the hotel's reception being located on the penthouse level. Once I made it up there, I quickly realised just how great a use of this space it is - the views are spectacular, and having the common areas making full use of that view is one I appreciate when I stay.

Check in is always pleasant. I had some difficulty with my check in for my last stay, as my reservation could not be found, despite having the confirmation email. But this was quickly and warmly corrected, and I was welcomed back and sent to a room that accommodated my requests of a high floor with airport view.

The rooms are somewhat small, and styled reflecting a minimalist approach. There isn't a lot of furniture, but there is just enough. The decor is very modern, but not overbearing. I quite like that the rooms are quite colourful and vibrant, which sets a less clinical tone than the more typical hotel rooms. I find the room very cosy, and I always seem to manage a comfortable stay.

As an airport hotel, noise should be expected. I have never had issue there with noise from fellow guests, but airport noise common to airport hotels is simply unavoidable. It is worth noting that the hotel lies adjacent a rail line too, so some train noise may be heard from time to time. Despite this, I haven't really had issue with noise at this hotel.

The hotel gym is only adequately equipped. It's enough to get by, but there isn't anything more than a bench with some dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and a few pieces of cardio equipment. Nothing spectacular, but perfectly adequate enough to get by.

My first stay at this hotel was during COVID restrictions, so the only dining options were their "grab and go" style convenience items (I quite like they still have this available). My most recent stay, I was able to appreciate their dining option. Available for dinner was a small range of pizzas, and a delectable green curry. To this day, I can vividly remember that green curry - It was amazing! The fact that the meal can be appreciated with the panoramic view of the airport is also very pleasant. My upcoming stay will see me able to take advantage of their breakfast offering, which I am looking forward to.

To-date, this is my preferred airport hotel. Is it perfect? What hotel is! Is it comfortable? For an airport hotel, absolutely! Will I stay again? That's a very safe bet.

Top location, good price, awesome view of aircraft movements if you’re a plane ✈️ nerd.
But, check-in was flawed & slow. Was asked to pay when payment had already been passed to third-party booking platform. Turned out that new staff member read my name wrong. Seemed to be a new starter so that’s cool,

What really annoyed me was being charged $34 for two schooners of beer & a packet of beer nuts. A bloody rip-off considering it was the first beer poured from the taps that day & what came out was dead as it had been sitting in the lines for hours. I knew this as the server removed glad wrap from the tap head before pouring…

Would stay again but would not throw any of my mound around for F&B on the top level.

The hotel itself is fine, and the only issue is actually getting to it. We arrived at terminal two.

The most expensive option is to take a taxi from the airport – if the taxi will take you! We lined up and were directed to a taxi, but the driver bluntly refused to take us. It’s such a short journey. It’s just not worth their while. It would also be massive expensive for such a short journey. He told us to call an Uber.

The Uber promised to be slightly less expensive, and the app promised that it would connect us with the driver within one minute … but it didn’t. Then it promised connection within five minutes, but there were clearly hardly any Uber drivers near the airport, and it also sneakily started upping the estimated cost in a smart piece of dynamic pricing. So we sacked that.

You can walk. It’s well under a mile, but it’s not a pleasant walk with luggage. So we took the fourth, and best option: the local bus.

The local bus is number 350, and it goes from outside terminal three. That’s the Qantas terminal: you can walk all the way round the roadways between the two terminals, but much better is to follow the signs for terminal three (you will go down the level and then up on the other side). Then follow the signs for local bus. Ride one stop which appears to cost about 1 AUD. Don’t forget to tap in, and tap off the bus, using the same card. Walk a few yards to the lights, cross the road towards the big billboard, cross the road again to reach the block with the hotel, and then it’s not very far to the front door of the hotel. Google Maps will help.

Once you get there, the hotel is fine: we had a sixth floor room with a view of the airport and loved it.

We are Sydney locals. We had a very early flight out of Sydney International Airport and decided to stay here. By booking early, the cost wasn't much more than a taxi from home, and our holiday started a day early and the airport view got us very excited about our trip.
The hotel lobby is on the top floor, where, as already mentioned, the view is absolutely fantastic. You look out over the airport and can see the planes landing and taking off. Despite the proximity, you can barely hear the planes because the hotel is so well insulated. There is also a large bar/lounge area on the top floor, and even an outdoor balcony with a view of the city. The decor is modern, quirky and surprising in a very fun way.
We enjoyed cocktails in the bar and then ordered dinner from a local restaurant directly to our room.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was impressive to see how supportive they were of each other.
The rooms were extremely comfortable and quiet. The hotel safe didn't work, which didn't worry us, but might be of concern to an international traveller. I have no doubt that it would have been rectified if we had asked.
The reception is open 24 hours, and a staff member called us a taxi to the International Terminal in the morning. The taxi only cost only $20.
We would happily return for a staycation just to enjoy the hotel, although I think the proximity to the airport would make us want to be going somewhere else after our stay! I think we have found our "pre-holiday home".
Thank you and congratulations to all involved with this hotel.
Just to add a footnote: I was contacted by email to leave feedback, which I did, and was extremely impressed that the manager of the hotel sent me a personalised thank you message. What great customer service!

I love a lot of things about this property. Like the Maccas and Krispy Kreme just across the road, bus stops within a 3-4 minute walk, the lounge which is open 24hrs and the happy hour at 5pm. There’s also an open veranda that is heated with a fireplace.

I found myself sitting with a glass of rose and a small plate of snacks late at night while sitting I would enjoy the majestic view of the airport. I would love to go back there.

The Sydney Super Shuttle offers a transfer service and can be booked online , although their website says no need to pre book, if you don’t pre book they add the cost to you hotel room according to the website. Another option is either Uber, taxi. I have not used the parking on site but would suggest you call or email the hotel direct as spaces may be limited .

Yes - I think it would be, as there is always traffic along there. But if you have a lot of luggage you could phone the hotel in advance and perhaps see if there is a shuttle bus at the time you want - $Aud7.00, or taxi would be cheep (if queue not too long)
