Do not be put off by the drab façade of this old pub, I assume the local Council has seen some heritage value in this old red brick building and has presumably refused any attempt at rebuilding. What a shame! This prime site deserves a modern building to enhance the streetscape and utilise the potentially magnificent views over the water....

Reserved a room at this hotel on Bookings.com . When we turned up to check into our room. The security rejected our booking. We hadn't been drinking at the establishment or caused any trouble just politely turned up with our bags and asked the staff where we could check in. The reason given for the refusal, was because we had...

Sunday lunchtime was busy, the food was lovely, the company better, the view over the road to the ocean is from childhood... we come here whenever we are in town ... maybe once every couple of years via ferry from Circular Quay to make a waterway day out on and around the harbour... beautiful.

We stopped in for a quick drink while visiting Manly. Ideal spot directly opposite the beach. Very friendly staff, drinks ice cold and service quick. You can also purchase great pub food. Several bars throughout the establishment. We sat on bar stools looking out onto the passing parade of locals and visitors, whilst we drank our wine.

A popular event night this lives up to expectations. A wide variety on the food menu and good value even if it wasn't half price. Large bar areas with multiple seating options for individuals and groups. Wine list by the glass options could do with being updated for range but great overall.

On Melbourne Cup Day all bars are jammed but we managed to get served just before the race and really enjoyed the atmosphere of this old style Aussie Bar. The staff were very friendly and we should have had lunch here before the race.

Great food and service, we hardly had to wait any time at all for our food. Friendly staff, lovely views of the beach or if you prefer, tv to watch the footy! Good selection of drinks. Fab burgers. Very reasonably priced.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
