We enjoyed our stay at the Q Station as you are in the hear of Sydney yet in a National Park where the bandicoots play and possums scurry for food at night. It is so peaceful and you go to sleep listening to the waves break on the shore below. There is something special about staying in such an establishment...

The Q station is a wonderful historical relic that is very accessible to visitors. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully preserved, the restaurant excellent and the view world class. Only quibble is the inexplicable charge for internet access. Not acceptable.

This is a nice relaxing place to stay. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, our room a deluxe suite was large with ensuite and very clean with everything you need for a stay, some rooms are a lot smaller and you need to use a shared bathroom so this would be worth checking on when booking, especially if ensuite...

Although great views and neat and tidy be aware that this place has a history of the quarantine place in the early 1900s for small pocks and the place is a really different feel. Also offers ghost tours and haunted rooms for those that like the supernatural. The place also has historical tours which we would have liked to have...

Wow what a change to have this place in the middle of Sydney. If you're after a business hotel this isn't it but for relaxing hiking trails and a vision of yesteryear this is fantastic. Many great walks nearby from short to long. Nearby Shelley beach is iconic and a must do for a mid afternoon rose.

Has just the one night but enough to take in the magnificent Sydney Harbour views. Did the 2-hour family ghost tour of the old buildings on site and learnt some great history. Finished with a delicious steak and desert. They have done a good job restoring the accommodation buildings.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
