We booked here as a last minute booking, so perhaps the price was particularly high given we were a last minute booking, or being over the Christmas/New year period, but I would expect a higher standard for the price.

Pros

Lovely friendly service - the front desk check in process was easy and attentive to our requests. Couldn’t fault the service.
We were also kindly moved rooms after checking in as we had a particularly noisy neighbour - and through the inter connecting door their tv was as though we had it on full ball in our own room. We were appreciative of this.

Location fabulous across road from beach, next to lots of shops.

On-site parking definitely worth the convenience of parking downstairs.

Super comfortable bed

Room views were lovely. Was nice to have the inside casual chairs to look out at the view from inside the room.

Pool/spa

Reception/restaurant area appeared to be recently refurbished which was nice.

Cons

Noise from street was quite loud (we were on 6th floor). The interconnecting room door seemed to let a lot of sound from other room in.

Restaurant/bar area downstairs looked amazing but was unfortunately shut. Not sure if this was because of the time of year or covid but we couldn’t enjoy the beautiful space which was a shame.

Shower flooded the bathroom as shower screen too short. Ended up having to use all our towels to soak up water from flooding bathroom. As a result the bathroom door was damaged as had been flooded before. Clearly a design flaw which needs to be rectified as I’m sure everyone has same issue (both rooms we were in had same design)

Attention to detail was lacking in the room. An attempt had been made to refresh the room to make it ‘beachy’, but missed the mark because of small things not being considered. Dirty marks on walls, bathroom grout/silicone needed to be redone as it was quite disgusting to look at. Was a shame as the bathroom itself had potential with lovely tiles. We stay at many hotels and attention to detail is very important.

Overall whilst I felt overpriced for standard, we would stay here again if in the area.

Me & my partner came to visit friends & family in Cronulla & stayed at the Rydges hotel for 3 nights. Wow, what an experience! From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with a smile. Shelley, the front office manager was so welcoming and helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble for her or for her team. The room was clean, modern & had a view that was next to none right in the heart of Cronulla. All of the staff were so friendly, Shaun the F&B manager who served us our arrival drinks in the bar “The Alley” was amazing! And his staff were so great at making cocktails that we decided not to leave the venue and stay there the whole evening instead of exploring the area for other options. The next day we lazed around the pool which was so well presented with sun beds, fresh towels and crystal clear water. 10/10 hospitality! We will certainly be back again soon.

Not sure if the hotel did a massive renovation recently but everything looked very new, clean and shiny without the horrible paint smell. The light coloured walls give the room a big open space feel with plenty of sunlight to shine through without making it hot. The small balcony with beach view is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The bed was super soft and the fluffy pillows worked well to give a very good night sleep. Our room had a little kitchen sink & dishwashing liquid for the basic utensils provided as well a microwave to reheat your food & drinks. The bathroom had a his and hers sink so it was very convenient for getting ready to go out at the same time. The location was ~10 minutes walk from Cronulla train station and right across the beach with a convenient store and shopping street mall strip around the corner. Distance to Sydney Airport wise is about 30-35 minutes drive. Catching the train to Town Hall takes a little over an hour on the T4 line. Overall very happy with the facility and service, will definitely stay here again if we're back in Cronulla.

Where do I begin. This was the last stop on our honeymoon and it was by far the worst place we have stayed at. We were charged $530 for 2 nights for a room without a toaster, unclean cups and plates, no extra sheets, not enough sugar or coffee for more then a 24 hour stay. The room was absolutely filthy, the blinds covered in dust, floor covered with stains, walls covered in black marks, the tiniest bar fridge I’ve ever seen which the freezer compartment did not work was so dirty I didn’t want to put my food in there. The room temperature was constantly hot and was unable to be changed. We were informed on our arrival that there was no parking available and the restaurant and bar were now closed Monday-Friday, the restaurant and bar was a major reason we chose to stay here so this was extremely disappointing. We were first given a room with a disabled toilet and shower, neither my husband and I are disabled, we then requested an upgraded room where we paid an extra $240 on top of $300 only to find the room to be extremely dirty and unpractical. There were no towels provided down at the spa and pool. I have added photos of our “suite” for everyone’s reference who is thinking of staying here. This has left a huge bad taste in our mouths at the end of our honeymoon, Rydges Cronulla needs to pick up their game big time.

I held a surprise 60th for my wife at Rydges. Lana was extremally helpful even with the set backs that Covid was her causing during the planning stages. The event went extremally smooth. The Band and the Elvis impersonator also complemented the venue. Food and drinks where all provided with several options to suit your budget. I went all out and added SPIRITS, a ploughman's plate (for 80ppl) on arrival and the Italian food station for came out later for supper. (The food was delicious and plentiful, but I wanted to make sure no-one got hungry). The Rydges location in the centre of Cronulla allowed us to take advantage of upstairs accommodation and make a weekend out of it. Great bars and restaurants, a pub across the road, wonderful walks, shops and of course the beach make it an awesome venue. Rydges took care of everything, all I had to do was turn up, have a great night with family and friends and pay the bill. Even the bill surprised me, with an open bar to include spirits, I was surprised we come in under budget.
Thanks to all at Rydges Cronulla, a great team. See in 5 years! lol

I have stayed at this Hotel on a number of occasions, however not for several years.
Whilst the rooms are showing their age the cleaning standard was very high, likewise in-room maintenance ensured everything was in working order and well presented. As with the majority of Rydges Hotels, the bed was extremely comfortable.
It is to be well noted, the Housekeeping Staff and Reception Desk Staff were friendly, very obliging and professional in all contacts and interactions.
Overall this was a most enjoyable stay, made even better by excellent weather, the beach view and the opportunity to utilise the parks and oceanfront walkways.

This hotel went above and beyond to accomodate our families needs by allowing us to check in early and check
out late due to a wedding we were attending. The person at reception made sure our room was made up including the sofa bed and portable cot which allowed us to only travel with the essential items.
They gave us a beautiful note and bottle of wine congratulating us on the birth of our new born who was 3 weeks old at the time.
Overall this was a fantastic experience and all staff who we came into contact with were nice and social.
I would stay there again if another opportunity came up.

My mum, myself and my sure came up to Cronulla for my Dad's Birthday to celebrate his memory as he passed last year.
We booked double adjoining rooms, to be honest the only good thing was the view. The quilt on ones of the beds in one of our rooms was dirty with blood on it. It wasn't a stain either, it was blood that had not been washed out and was a large amount.
The doors on the wardrobe were also broken and there was mold and scum in the shower.
In the other room, the air conditioning was broken.
When I spoke with the front desk, there was no apology, except that she would send the house keeper manager up. He came up and just changed it, no apology there either.

In these times especially during COVID, ALL linen needs to be washed, not just new sheets added.

When I checked out the next morning and explained to the lady at the front desk, how disappointed we were she said she should have changed us to a suite and they out source their house keeping.
After the fact doesn't exactly count or mean anything. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

She did comp our parking, but in all honesty it far from sufficed. I used to be a GM for a hotel in NYC so I understand how this should have been handled.

To say it put a dampening on our stay is an understatement and was an extremely uncomfortable night knowing that the room wasn't clean.

We stayed here for the fourth time recently and as usual, enjoyed our time here. Its a great location, right in the heart of Cronulla, many shops and eateries outside the front door and its across the road from the beach. The rooms have great views of the water, obviously especially the higher floors. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Great pool/hot spa decking area and bar over looking the water. The interior is a little bit dated but that kind of fits with the surfy vibe of the area. Cronulla is a little out of the way but in my view a small price to pay for benefits of staying in this relaxed seaside surfy community. Definitely will be staying here again.

Rydges Cronulla has the best location for a few days of relaxing. Go to the beach,no more than a slow walk away and heaps of cafes and restaurants to eat and eat. Ocean view rooms add to the atmosphere and you can spend time on the balcony, watching the world ease by. We found the room very good with a nice bathroom. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.Morning breakfast was a buffet with plenty of variety for ever taste and top quality. All staff were friendly and efficient. The room did not have any teaspoons, I don't know why that would be so. Finally, the noise caused by people letting their doors bang very loudly at all hours is annoying and unnecessary(not Rydges fault), but maybe a reminder on the door would help people to be more considerate ( am being hopeful ?)
Overall Rydges Cronulla a good place to stay. Thank you.

Sorry to say but Cronulla has limited street parking given the popularity of the area. It may be worthwile checking rates with the Hotel or it simply becomes a matter of finding something on the streets.
