Lets not mince words the carpet in our apartment was the most worn thread bear and dirty carpet I have ever seen in any apartment or hotel anywhere in the world and I have visited over 50 countries and stayed in more than 250 different places. The fact they rent these apartments with such a poor carpet is embarrassing. The size and layout of the apartment was okay in our 2 bedroom, and the furniture, especially the saggy sofa bed and chair was tired, but not in the same league as the carpet. The kitchen was okay, and we did have a see view, but there was quite allot of road noise, so I would not recommend for light sleepers. The apartment in what is probably the most expensive place in the world to rent a hotel or apartment, are in the bottom end of range, but because they are so tired, they still don't represent good value. I think there is more chance you will have a bad rather than good experience here, so I would not recommend this property.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and other family members stayed in a 3 bedroom. Both apartments were dirty and between the 2 we had no toilet paper, coffee or tea, or a dishcloth or sponge. The kitchen bench, cupboards and stove were smeary, there were hairs in the bath and basin and the mirror was dirty. On arrival at 2pm reception was closed and no one answered the phone. We hung around outside for an hour waiting to check in. I got an email saying check in was from 3pm but the email wasn't sent until after I had left home to travel to Sydney so I didn't get it. We asked for a cot and were told it would be brought up in 20 mins. More than an hour and a few phone calls later putting up with a tired, cranky baby we went and got it ourselves. There were blood stains on one of the doonas, the clock/radio didn't work, the clothes dryer was positioned straight above the washing machine so the lid would only open a fraction. There was an upstairs balcony but it had no furniture so we couldn't use it. We arrived back at our unit during the day to find the door propped wide open with a chair. All our belongings were in full view, including my daughter's jewellery. A painter was working further down the hallway and had left our door open ready to paint it. We were not informed that a painter would need access to our unit. Overall a poor experience and not good value for the price. We paid $219 per night for 3 people plus $15 per night to park.

We were given a room the stunk, was not clean, toe nail clippings on the floor in front of the lounge, razor left in bathroom that our kids found, stains all over carpet, mould in shower, kitchen not clean, range hood looked like the fat was going to drip down off it. We'd asked for a first floor room and were given ground floor. When we spoke with reception about getting another room as the one they'd given us was unacceptable and not what we'd booked and paid for she didn't care. She was more interested in twirling her hair around telling us that was all we could have.
The pool was nice but the pool area was not clean evident by the band aides that laid beside the pool our entire stay.
When getting the kids and bags out of the car a cleaning lady came past with her cleaning trolley and wheeled it straight over the top of some of our bags. When I asked her to stop she looked at me and grinned than kept going.
Completely rude, unclean, over priced completely disappointment.
Do not stay at this hotel.

When we got there, we had an 'upgrade' because the apartment we booked wasn't ready. We were excited till we walked into the 'penthouse'. Still confetti on the floor from a previous party? Sigarette buds in potplants, dirty grill, tab nobs missing in shower, no plug for the bath etc... When we mentioned it to the reception they said they couldn't get anyone to fix things. But what about the cleaning? It was really dirty. When we left we asked for someone to contact us within a few days to explain but they never did. Terrible place to stay, very run down.

The position of the Bellagio is enticing. Who wouldn’t want to stay across from Collaroy Beach. Don’t be fooled though, the photos on the website are years old and the Bellagio is tired. Make up is no longer enough, this old dame needs more than TLC. But seriously at least Clean People!!!!
Check in is non existent with a key being left in a box. The after hours number doesn’t connect. So really sad because The Bellagio has great bones, great views (if the windows had been cleaned in the last few years) and great location. What a waste!

This was meant to be a nice girls weekend away however if it wasn't for the company it would have been a complete disaster. It all started with a phone call in the morning from the "accommodation" letting us know that we wouldn't be able to check in until 2:30 as our room needed to be cleaned. We didn't mind what time we checked in however what I did find unacceptable was the lack of friendliness and politeness from the young girl on the other end of the call. On arrival there was no-one manning the reception however there was a sign that said be back in 5 minutes. Another guest informed us that he had been waiting or 15 minutes without any sign of staff. When the girl eventually returned once again she was quite rude and unprofessional both in dress and mannerisms.
We had a 2 bedroom penthouse apartment which we had paid $378 for the Saturday night. We wouldn't have paid a cent if we knew what we were getting ourselves into. The apartment was really run down and absolutely filthy.

Here is a list of "maintenance" issues that we encountered:
- Air conditioning wasn't working and therefore no air flow possible unless the doors were wide open as there isn't any windows. This isn't ideal as you need to remember it is right on Pittwater Road and is very noisy.
- Furniture on our rooftop terrace in the apparent penthouse was broken and completely unusable.
- The apartment features a light panel however it malfunctioned the entire time by turning on and off every 5 minutes and beeping each time.
- Filtered water was broken and hanging off the sink.
- Lights out in both the kitchen and one of the bathrooms. There was only one light bulb working in each.
- No mattress protectors on the beds which I find absolutely disgusting.
- No blind in the second room as it looks like it had been ripped off.
- Carpets were stained throughout the apartment.
- There was no staff available after 6pm so too bad if there was a black out or something needed to be attended to urgently.

I have certainly saved the best to last though and this was the final straw for us. When we finally retreated to bed around midnight one of my friends who was in the room with the double bed found cockroaches in her bed. Absolutely unacceptable in anyones books. Also on further inspection she also found a cigarette butt behind the side draw which says it all. At this stage we all wanted to go home however decided to stick it out and all slept in the "main" bedroom which was meant to be the queen bed however as we discovered was two single beds put together.

Tell everyone you know NEVER to stay here as they will be extremely disappointed and completely ripped off. You would be better off sleeping on the beach across the road. I have never, ever stayed in accommodation that was of such a poor standard and I can't believe they are charging people to stay in such filthiness.

This is a copy of the letter sent to the manager on 5th January. to this date, 26th January 2015, we have yet to receive any reply: symptomatic of the lack of professionalism and customer service.
Dear sir/madam,
We spent the evening of the 30th of December at Bellagio by the Sea in room 31.
We enjoyed the fact that the beach was just over the road and food outlets just down the road.
And the indoor pool and spa was OK.
But that was all.
It is not your fault that it is situated on the main road so my sleep was not the usual.
The two bedrooms were very stuffy as there were no fans or airflow through the rooms UNLESS the doors were left open.
Hence the noise!!! and broken sleep.
The carpet was stained and tired and in quite poor condition.
The walls had marks on them.
The TV went on the blink and with no one to call stayed off the whole time we were there.
The armchair on the balcony had a broken arm.
And when we checked out, no one at the desk! at 10am on the 31st December.
The helpful house keeping staff informed us just to pass the cards and garage key through the slot in the locked reception door.
However, this prevented us from leaving the carpark as the door was shut! and no room key ! TRAPPED !
A considerate resident swiped his card for us otherwise we may still be there!!
When we unpacked upon arrival at home at 5pm, we realised we had left behind in the room a men's toiletry bag, with the usual items inside.
WE RANG THE OFFICE and left a MESSAGE.
I RANG THE NEXT MORNING AND MY PARTNER AND I RANG ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE NEXT 5 DAYS and EACH TIME we got the inane message that you had just stepped away from the office at 9 in the morning, noon, 2 in the afternoon, 5 in the late afternoon and in the evening.
Despite your recorded message, NO-ONE returned the call.
I thought you could not understand my English so in the end through frustration I spelt out my message
R E A L L Y S L O W L Y.
This is the most deplorable customer service I have ever encountered and I am in the service industry.
You are not getting any return business from me or any one of our extended family or friends!!!!
The young lady who returned my call at 930am 5th january, was embarrassed at the extent to which we had been ignored and the atrocious customer service demonstrated by her peers and colleagues over the last 5 days. They had done nothing to return my call. In addition, as she returned to work this morning, she suddenly had the burden of returning calls to more than one disgruntled customer. This is an unfair situation to place on one staff member. Please commend her and sack the rest.
At $400 for the night, this was ONE BIG RIP OFF. I have stayed in many international, national and city destinations and this one is the worst. For $400, I would always get pleasant, efficient and personal customer service, adequate ventilation, heating and cooling, troubleshooting phone numbers for any issue and a return phone call within 24 hours of leaving a message ( and generally within a couple of hours!!! )
Despite reading this review and you still want to go, problem belong you!!!

My husband and I chose to stay at Bellagio by the Sea as it was so close for our wedding. Our family, friends, wedding guests also stayed at this hotel. We were to be wed on a Monday and chose to check in on the Saturday prior, to allow time to relax before the big day. Relaxation did not happen at all during our stay, the only positive feeling was relief to check out! The rooms are filthy! My feet were black from walking barefoot on the carpet, I had to scrub my feet before I put my wedding shoes on, after already having showered. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and the kitchen upon checking in! The air-conditioning did not work in our room. The hotel knew about this as they had placed pedestal fans in the room. Yet they neglected to inform us of this issue with the room. The fans did nothing considering the floor to ceiling glass windows and doors just allowed the sun and heat to stream in. The receptionist laughed at me as I asked to be moved to another room as I the room felt like a sauna and I had fresh flowers I needed to be kept in aircon so they would stay alive for the wedding. The tavs did not work. They charged us $15 a night to park our cars in the car park, but then they stuck a note under our door to tell us that parking was closed and all cars needed to be out before 8am as the carpark was being painted. Where on earth were all of the hotel guests to park with so little notice, and after having already charged my credit card for parking!!!! For anyone having their wedding at Long Reef Golf Club, please don't stay here! i know it's close, but it will be a huge disappointment and it will impact on your special day. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I have sent two complaint letters to the Manager, I have not had a reply, nor have the other guests who have sent complaint letters. Absolutely no concept of customer service. I am surprised how this hotel stays in business.

Responded 16 June 2015
Hi Brody, It is unfortunate that you had a bad stay. We had recently replaced all of our couches in all apartments with new ones in the last few months. The apartments do get a lot of use, and therefore we are currently in the process of changing the carpet. Kind Regards, Management.
