Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here early March for a weekend bed breakfast and evening meal deal. The rooms were spacious but old fashioned and tired, that said the standard of cleanliness was not too bad. What I want to really rave about is the food.....excellent home cooked and well presented. We had been to The Hand and Flowers - Cheif Tom Kerridge's...

We often visit this area usually in our caravan, but we just fancied being spoilt and have things done for us. Apparently under new ownership, the original owner has returned and put things back on an even keel. The house wines are excellent goes really well with the excellent cuisine

My husband and I stayed at the Wynnstay for 3 nights over the last bank holiday weekend whilst attending the town's yearly comedy festival. We booked a standard room which was all we needed, somewhere to sleep and get ready in the morning, and the room served us well. One could say the decor is perhaps a little tired, however...

You dont need a wake up call at the Wynnstay - the town clock is opposite and strikes every 15 minutes!! No room to park in the car park, so had to pay in town car park...breakfast and service was terrible...drinks were VERY expensive - dont want to be reminded of the place...

Could you suggest the name of the Concentration Camp in question. I'd like to try it! Must be amazing!

I love the way that The Wynnstay embodies aspects of the local heritage yet blends, with pananche, cuisine and hospitality which have an air of the cosmopolitan. On a chilly spring evening, we were welcomed warmly and personally by staff - and seated by a log fire! Querying the wines, the Patron chose two, judiciously, for me to taste. He...

Thank you for this kind review. It is good to see when people buy into our vision. Yes, food and drink is what we are about, we happen to have 23 bedrooms as well. Our wine list has just grown larger - and, I hope, even more interesting! We hope to see you again - and maybe stop the night.

We were warmly greated by Charles when we arrived at the Wynnstay Hotel, we had been driving back to Chester and wanted to stop for the night. He told us the rates were from £96.00 but as he only had superior rooms left which were £135.00 per night we could stay in one for the standard rate. We were shown...

Thank you for this review. I confess that our raison d'être is the food and drink. We are working hard to bring the hotel up to scratch - after it was closed and previous owners went under. There is much to do. Actually, our superior rooms are £115 a night for two people B&B, standard double rooms are £95 B&B....

Lovely friendly staff that wanted to please in every way.. Menu was adventurous with food that couldn't match. The wine list was limited with just a handful of Italian wines.. The seafood casserole comprised of pieces of white fish cut into cubes with the skin intact and bones plus very small mussels combined into a creamy sauce with mashed potato.....

Very sorry to read here that you were not happy. It is a shame nothing was said at the time as now it is rather too late. Our wine list is limited and, although, expanding, it always will be as we specialise in wines which we import directly from vineyards in Italy. This allows us to offer far super wines...

Really good lunch here. Lovely, unusual menu and featuring local produce. Nice ambiance with huge log fire and oldy world wooden floorboards. So much to enjoy!! Great food, produce and staff. Very helpful and friendly. Strongly recommended
