I stayed here for one night while working locally. The hotel is a bit dated in places and not particularly exciting but perfectly clean and equipped for a night or two. On this basis I would probably give 3 or 4 out of 5. One thing that would have such a small impact for the hotel made quite a difference...

Thank you for taking the time in writing your review. We are sorry to learn that your stay was spoilt by us not accepting payment by bank card for £3.40. However although the offer was not suggested nor our policy at the time for paying an extra 50p, it has inspired us to offer this facility to our residential guests...

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is in a great central location. Rooms are all big, nicely furnished and very comfortable. Bar and function rooms are very popular and busy. Staff are very helpful, can't do enough for you! Very nice breakfast and restaurant was alway busy. I will stay here again.

A very enjoyable experience at the Hotel Mariners for our works Christmas party. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, all staff were lovely and chatty. The meals were brought out quickly and not long to wait in between courses even though there were other people dining in the restaurant. Soup starter was lovely, Turkey main was tasty but the dessert...

I never stayed or eaten here before but we all booked this place for our works do. All I have to say is the food was amazing! And very well prepared. The waiters and waitresses were all lovely and attentive, asking "How was your meal?" and "Can I get you another drink?" They catered very well for us as there...

Many thanks for your lovely review. Hopefully we will see you again this year; but remember to book early enough for Christmas Parties if that is what you were, as already the weekends in December 2017 are filling up.

I was invited to join friends for a meal at this hotel. I ordered Lasagne and chips but got Lasagne and salad. A friend mentioned this to the waiter - he was lovely - and he went to get chips. The meal was OK, not great, but OK. I went to pay on leaving and was charged £13.45...I was in...

We are sorry that you were disappointed in your meal and the service that you received. However if you had contacted us the day after the event, we would have been able to check our dockets and til roll ; and sort out your complaint efficiently, and if we had mistakenly overcharged we would have refunded the £2.00.

Stayed for a night on business and found large car park, friendly staff, and recently refurbished room. Meal in the bar was very good, all home made and tasty. Breakfast was served quickly and well cooked. Shower powerful and hot. All my boxes ticked!

This is a reasonable hotel, a little jaded and old fashioned but perfectly sound for a couple of nights. The bed was comfy and room/linen clean. Smelt a bit musty though. Good size room and plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee in room. I was on the top floor a bit of a walk with a case. Free wifi....

Thank you for taking the time in writing your review. We are rather surprised on your comments regarding your room, as many guests request rooms in the 40's. The Hotel has been upgraded in stages within the Hotel, but has kept its traditional 1625 character in other areas of the Hotel. However we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed...
