The County Hotel could be a metaphor for Haverfordwest itself - shabby and run down and well past its best. The room was small and cramped and I don't know what the suspicious stains on the carpet were but the spectacular view across the car...More

About
Description
Haverfordwest is the attractive and ancient county town of Pembrokeshire. As well as being the county's administrative centre, Haverfordwest has a great variety of shops in the town and the outlying retail More parks. The centre of Haverfordwest is dominated by the Western Cleddau that runs through the middle of the town and the castle that towers above it. Haverfordwest castle was built about 1120,situated within the Castle wall and previously the old prison governor's house is the town museum.. Down river on the west bank of the river are the ruins of an Augustinian Priory that have recently been excavated and repaired. They occupy a pleasant setting beside the river, a short walk from the town centre. The award winning Haverfordwest Farmers Market is held on the riverside every Friday. Explore Pembrokeshire The diversity of breath-taking scenery. Towering sea cliffs plunge into a pristine sea and in complete contrast, the Preseli Mountains to the north. These rolling moorland hills, rich with wildlife and history are the origin of the Stonehenge Bluestones. Pembrokeshire has a wide range of events, days out and attractions. Here in Pembrokeshire Mother Nature blessed us with glorious natural attractions but even away from the coast and mountains you'll never have a dull moment.
