We called in for a Sunday roast and enjoyed two first class meals at a very good price. The beef, yorkshires, roasts and gravy were served accompanied by a huge dish of about seven assorted veg. Very filling and satisfying. A sizeable chunk of Bramley pie and a sticky toffee pudding followed– both delicious, with coffee and tea accompaniment. This...

Lovely building and deco inside, very traditional. Could do with weeding and a bit of attention. Food is very average, you could make it yourself, tinned soup, frozen fish... basic but eatable. Overpriced for what you get. Filled a corner after walking. Pints are a bit flat, they are alright, nothing spectacular. Nice area in the beer garden for dogs,...

Been coming here for last 5 years for annual walk and whilst the pub is charming, food and beer great & value for money .... the staff consistently lack customer service and any engagement ... Ordered 4 meals but did not come out together ... 1 finished before the others arrived ... disappointing

I booked to stay at The Skirrid for my husband birthday. We wanted a meal for 26. Nothing was to much trouble. All went smoothly. Meals were amazing and plentiful. Good selection. No one ate dessert as the meals filled them up. The children had a ball and all left full of ghost tales and excitement. The room was out...

Lovely pub meal in a lovely old pub. The pub is a little out ofnthe way as its several miles outside Abergavenny bit well worth the drive. Very atmospheric and olde worlde. Food and drink were great and the staff friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend it for a meal anytime of day.

We only popped in for a pint or two! We were made very welcome by the barmaid and the beer was great. The pub really is very atmospheric and so so old. I would have loved to have explored the property. I will go back and recommend you stop if you are passing.

It was our first visit to the Skirrid and it definitely won't be our last. I had booked a table for the 4 of us for Saturday evening. The food was delicious and all Home made which you don't get at many pubs/restaurants, portion sizes were great, although we did manage to fit in a dessert, the drinks were good...

A pretty early evening run up to the inn, through a lovely village. The inn is ancient, with many interesting features including a massive Inglenook fire place with a lovely welcoming fire.We enjoyed a good bar meal,a couple of drinks and found the staff extremely friendly and obliging. There was a good...

The oldest pub in Wales. Hauntings. A notorious place of execution. How much better can it get? We wanted to visit the Skirrid Mountain Inn for some time. It's a place that seemingly has more than one reason to visit. Some visitors might gleefully relish the thought of sitting down to dine in an honest to goodness haunted building. Without...
