Had a great time on a six day groupon deal. The Hotel is situated in the small coastal town of Criccieth, with views over the old town, castle and bay. It has been in the same family for many years and is well run. Our sea facing room had recently been refurbished and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful,...

Not the slickest hotel I have ever stayed but lots of character, clean and tidy and very friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable room and very reasonably priced. Purple Moose beer was on form. Would like to go back again!

We stayed 2 nights on a B&B basis with another couple and really enjoyed our stay at the Lion Hotel. We had a room with a view towards the seafront and our room had an exceptionally large & comfortable bed with an equally large bathroom & shower. The facilities were good and the bar served bar food and real ale...

Our two night stay was good. The hotel is clean and tidy and although modernised has not lost it's old charm. Out top floor room was on the small size but had a lovely dual aspect view. It was warm, clean and comfortable. There was no noise. We were rather disappointed to find the restaurant is not open on Sunday...

Hello and thank you for your 5 star review, we have been through a 5 year renovation project to modernise the hotel but to keep it in line with the character of the building, thank you for picking up on this. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open in the evenings at this time of year, the room itself is so...

Stayed in room one, which was a good size room with separate toilet and bathroom which is always handy. Drinks reasonably priced and food looked good but I didn't eat there. Good car park at the back, as criccieth can get very busy. Breakfast was good, but sausages were cooked to oblivion which was a shame.

We wanted somewhere to escape for a weekend, and The Lion fitted the bill perfectly. The location is brilliant with plenty of parking, and right in the centre of Criccieth. The room was modern without losing the charm and character of a traditional hotel, and most importantly it was scrupulously clean. The bar was comfortable with a friendly atmosphere, and...

We LOVE Criccieth and go at least once a year. We've stayed in numerous different lodgings - mainly self catering which is more suited to a week or more stay. The Lion is a lovely traditional hotel that is perfectly situated. The only issue we had was the beds were really uncomfortable. The mattresses could do with replacing and the...

Everything you need for a great holiday! We found the hotel on Groupon but when we called to see availability, they gave us the same deal - bonus! The hotel location is perfect whether you come by car or train and it takes a two minute stroll to the beach. Located a few meters from the high street with little...

We decided to hold out until Thursday to try and get a good deal for two nights in our beloved Wales, and this place did not disappoint. We stayed in room 12. It was very "roomy" well lit, plenty of mirrors, a large wardrobe (hangers were plentiful), hairdryer and a comfortable bathroom with a decent shower. I don't normally go...
