My wife & I checked in on the afternoon of Sunday 17th April and the young man behind the bar said that he would carry our bags up to our room. When we got there it was very spacious, clean, light and airy and well decorated with a great view of the harbour and the sea. We didn't eat there...

How this pub has the audacity to serve food is beyond me, when it finally arrives lets just say it's not worth the wait. I have never been so disappointed and to make matters worse the staff seem to be oblivious to this tasteless slop which I doubt they are eating on the lunch break. On the upside I would...

Called for a meal yesterday and having made several choices that were not available due to a so called menu change, I ended up being served inedible food due to it being burnt . The place was quiet and still had to wait 1hour and 10 minutes for the burnt offering to arrive. On speaking to the so called manager...

Popped into monachty for a spot of lunch with my son was told there would be approximately half hour to 40 minutes wait which was fine, I ordered 2 simple dishes 1 scampi and a child's meal with a coffee and a soft drink half hour later still no coffee but after asking a friendly member of staff she went...

Hi Louise Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your meals but please accept my sincere apologies for the wait you were faced with. As I am sure you can appreciate, whilst your meals may have been simple dishes, the kitchen would have had other meals to prepare beforehand which would have resulted...

Stayed here for 4 nights recently on a work based stay. Very comfortable hotel, great meals and in a great location. It was helped with really great weather for the 4 nights. Plenty of local restaurants if you do not wish to eat in the hotel.

We were warned of a delay in food but 1.5 hours till mains came was a bit much! We sat upstairs for 15 minutes then were told to order at bar. Service was poor, we had fish cakes for starters, no condiments offered! Then after a horrendously long wait,we had our mains eventually, the pork chop was undercooked to say the...

We were the last to check in that evening resulting in a stay in room 2. This room has no view as the glass is frosted. There is an extractor fan outside the window which they did turn down a touch on request so my partner could have a snooze in the early evening. The toilet door does not close...

Stayed for one night in a double room which was clean with tea and coffee facilities needed to ask for extra milk as there wasn't enough, there were 2 rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom with minimal amounts on them hardly worth leaving in there!! Car park is not exclusive for Monachty customers so no spaces at busy times...

My husband and I only stayed the one night. The staff were really welcoming. Paid £10 extra for sea view which was lovely. Nice breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel and is good value for money.

Stayed for the week at Monachty and I was truly impressed. The room overlooked the harbour and was clean warm and spacious. We had an ample breakfast each morning served by polite staff.
