We drove past today on our way to the dam, and thought that we'd return for lunch. As always our walk turned into more of a hike and by the time we got back it was just heading to 3pm. Well past closing time, but since there were some bikers sitting out front with a drink, we assumed we could... More

With a Campsite down the hill and having a day out walking the hills, what better to eat at this local pub. The beer was of good standard and the Rib eye was cooked as required. with a couple of ales and locals the evening went well and a good night slept well.

We decided to book a last minute break here for Sunday night and we're so glad they had a room available. When we arrived there was a mini beer festival going on so it was quite busy and the weather was lovely. We checked in and were shown straight to our room which was quite big with our own bathroom... Have stayed at the Oak a couple of times now when passing through the area on motorbike. Always a warm and friendly welcome from landlord Chris and his staff, food and beer have always been spot on. Burger night and breakfast are particular favourites of mine. Rooms are comfortable and very well priced, the singles share a bathroom which is... More

The breakfast was very good and the pub had two real ales which were vey well kept. The area is beautiful with a bird... More

Stopped in for an evening meal and and a few pints after a day's walk on the Cambrian Way. There was a quite reasonable selection of craft/cask beer all in excellent condition. It was "Hamburger Night" and what terrific hamburgers they were. Nice cosy atmosphere and friendly service. Well worth the walk up the hill if you are staying at... More

Stop here overnight after a long day out on the motorbikes. The landlord is a great guy, very friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The bar is great and the beer all of great quality. The rooms were fine and we all slept just fine. The food was brilliant, really great tasty evening meal and a lovely hearty... More

Beware it closes at 2-6pm some days, so check opening times. The bar meals are excellent, the area is stunning, and the choice of beer outstanding. On the day we visited there were three Welsh real ales, 2 Welsh real ciders and Welsh perry, all on draft. Landlord is particularly good - a delight of a pub - just a... More
