I cannot explain what a wonderful welcome we have had at henllys, claire and family could not do enough for us, we recently returned for a 2 night break which was brilliant, rooms are spotless and evening meal absolutely delicious beautiful home cooked food as is breakfast. Claire can’t do enough for you and is one of the most caring people, also give yourself a real treat and book a treatment you won’t regret it you will just want to go back for more, then relax in the hot tub at the end of the evening just bliss

I have stayed here twice now and visited on several more occasions for massage and treatments. Claire is truly a wonderful host and looked after us so well. Very accommodating and friendly. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, always feel so good after visiting here. Catered well for vegetarians.

We stayed here for two nights to attend a family wedding and I'd highly recommend Henllys B&B. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with excellent facilities. I really liked that there are small fridges in the rooms for keeping your own supplies fresh - so useful. The ground floor rooms look out onto a lovely courtyard, which has chairs and tables for guests to use and it was great sitting out one evening. The location is wonderful. Breakfast is very good with a range of cooked options and plenty of freshly brewed tea and coffee. Claire is a wonderful host. She made us feel really welcome and had put slices of home baked banana bread in our rooms and made a pot of tea on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our weekend extra special.

I booked a family room and I clearly mentioned that my kids age is 3 and 6. First night my little one didn’t sleep well. So next in evening, when we came back from a trip after 6o’clock Claire came to our room and said can u guys plz leave from here I can’t take any stress from your family, your kids are loud and you haven’t give them any discipline and indirectly she saying to me that you haven’t raise your kids well. She was so rude she didn’t understand every child is different. You can’t compare them. I have anxiety issue. After she said all this stuff we spend some hours to find another hotel . But we couldn’t find any thing. However all this stress triggered my anxiety. Suddenly I feel so down and upset. This is the reason we booked this holiday because I was suffering from anxiety from last couple of month. We thought nature will heel me. However Claire gave me so much stress and negativity. Last night we msg her we will go early tomorrow and we will not come for breakfast as you and your other guest probably feel better. And she replied us “ whatever guys suit you”. When we left I was so upset because I feel that this place is not good for my kids. She has no respect for kids and nor for their mother.

Dear Rupali, Thank you so much for joining Trip Advisor snd choosing out B&B for your first review. We gave your family our usual warm welcome with homemade cake and tea and were polite, respectful and friendly throughout your stay. Guests come and stay with us from all over the UK and around the world enjoying the peace and quiet of our beautiful home and acres of grounds to explore. As can be seen from the reviews of our lovely guests we are happy to welcome children and many have enjoyed family holidays here. We do expect them to be well behaved and ask everyone to be mindful of noise at night so as to not disturb our other guests and in 7 years we have had no problems. You had emailed me before arrival telling me your children were a big handful and you were very stressed. Our other guests the next morning complained about the loud noises and how they were disturbed all night with banging and screaming and could not sleep. During breakfast the screaming and noise continued along with the deliberate slamming of cutlery and crockery on the table without any attempt from you in controlling this behaviour. On your second night we did not have any other guests staying but I was concerned that on your third night we had a full B&B and did not feel it was fair to other guests to have their holidays and our reputation ruined by this challenging behaviour and unnecessary noise. We totally understand and respect that children can be different. I have 2 boys myself, a large wider family with nephews and nieces as well as many children as guests but had never experienced anything near this. I felt the only option was to politely talk to you about the noise snd suggested that I help find you alternative accommodation that would suit your needs better. I never at any point insinuated that you were a bad parent even though your husband told me they were very hard work, they didn’t listen to you and you were both aware of their behaviour. I was very compassionate to your stress and anxiety which must be very challenging and exacerbated by the demands of the children snd gave you a relaxing hour’s healing massage. This was after my suggestions of finding you another place for the following day. Your session was booked in for 5pm but you didn’t arrive back until after 6pm. I still honoured your treatment as I knew it would be lovely for you despite it interrupting my evenings plans. I will always go out of my way to be as flexible and as accommodating as possible for our guests so they have an enjoyable and memorable holiday as possible. Having been a therapist and yoga teacher for over 25 years I am always respectful, compassionate and professional to all. So you stayed your last night as there was nowhere else local to stay and you sent me a message saying to make life easier for me you wouldn’t be having breakfast in the morning. I politely said’ whatever suits you best’ honouring your decision. I amended the bill accordingly. As with all guests I went out of my way to make you feel welcome my fulfilling your requests: a fridge in your room, leaving the heating on all night, buying chocolate syrup for the children’s breakfasts rather than the usual maple syrup we have on the menu. I gave your children books to borrow and read and lent maps and leaflets and suggested some great day trips for you to enjoy. I am surprised at the term control freak lady as I am sure you would find at any establishment there are certain guidelines/ rules/ suggestions regarding noise and behaviour of children or pets to ensure a great stay for everyone else in the vicinity. With my life and job I am pretty relaxed and flexible and have welcomed hundreds of guests over the years, many who have returned and keep in touch. Our place is a haven of nature, tranquility and positive energy but sadly it seems you didn’t find it with us. Nothing in your review comments on the cleanliness, quality of food or actually a review of our B&B business, it’s nothing but an attempted character assassination of me which is shocking and frankly dishonest.

I’ve stayed at the B&B at Henllys twice this year whilst I was working away in Landovery. I had the best week long stay on both occasions; in fact I enjoyed my first stay so much when it came to booking accommodation for my second week stay for work I asked work to book me in again! The accommodation is lovely, very cosy, well presented and very clean (with very good attention to extra measures for Covid). The estate is set in beautiful surroundings and I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy a nice cup of tea and slice of cake after work or go for a walk in the estates little nature reserve with its lake in the evenings. The breakfast and evening meals I had were fantastic and catered fantastically to my diet (vegetarian). Claire is an incredibly thoughtful and accommodating host, and really made me feel welcome and at home which is especially appreciated as I work away from home, a lot! Honestly the best stay I’ve ever had for a work trip. I’m really hoping that next year once it becomes ok again to travel I will be able to stay again and bring my partner for a lovely restful stay away!
