Absolutely fabulous stay, rooms made to a great standard, very accommodating and the breakfast was sublime! Will definitely return in the future, have already recommended to family and friends for when they stay in the area in the future.

Stayed for two nights at the beginning of December. Stayed in the Moray room which was lovely, comfortable and clean, with brilliant views over the bay. Had dinner the first night, was delicious and fresh, and the homemade pudding topped it off perfectly. Breakfast was perfect both mornings, had the full cooked Scottish breakfast and the vegetarian cooked the next...

Arrived in the rain for a two night stay. The house is beautiful and was far warmer and welcoming than the weather. You will need a car to enjoy this place and the surroundings. Wigtown itself has very little to offer, a couple of pubs and a Co-op is about. But, get out and about and there is a wealth...

We telephoned Hillcrest about room availability, but they wanted to also make reservation for dinner. We reserved room with credit card, but said we didn’t know what we wanted to do for dinner, but they made dinner reservation also. When we were driving to Hillcrest we had no phone nor wi-fi service. We arrived after dinner time & were told...

We wanted somewhere peaceful and quiet to explore the Galloway Forest. This was just wonderful. Instantly relaxing. We had the four poster room and it was just beautiful - lots of character, really comfortable and beautiful views. The food was gorgeous - both the breakfasts and the evening meals. We arranged to have wine and chocolates on arrival too -...

Had a wonderful weekend stay in this little Hidden Gem. Wonderful warm welcome along with great hospitality from the owners, Debora and Andrew Frith. Beautiful rooms and outstanding home cooked breakfast and evening meals. Private afternoon tea organised in their lounge for our party of ladies, first class all the way!

While this B&B was beautiful on the outside the inside was dated and a little moldy for people with allergies. Our host was very nice and the grounds with so many mature trees were great. The breakfast was okay but only served from 8-9 so it presented a small time frame. The room room we stayed in was large, bathroom...

I am sorry you did not fully appreciate your trip to Galloway and in particular to Wigtown, which is Scotland's national booktown, but I am especially disturbed that you think there was mold in evidence; If you could be more specific I would be happy to investigate, but to date you are the only guest to think there is such...
