-Wheelchair access to main entrance quite difficult -Wheelchair access to the restaurant only accessible via the side or back doors but once inside extremely difficult through narrow corridors and if it's raining you will definitely get wet during access via either door - Only one disabled room with twin beds but no grab rails in room or bathroom which was...

Hotel was very quiet and there was only 1 waitress. She was very good and she could put other waitresses to shame with her service. She took our order and we ordered a drink. Then we were shown to our table and she was very attentive. She even came and poured our wine later in the meal. Receptionist Jan was...

Our second new year break having enjoyed it so much last year we decided to book again. As usual for this hotel the food is excellent and for us is really one of the key selling points - along with the stunning location and views down to the harbour. Service was very good with all new faces in the restaurant,...

Our second New Year at this hotel and everything was fine with friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and excellent food, they even arranged for the sun to shine on New Year's Day. We have booked again for 2017/2018 so it must be OK!

We stayed here for four nights over Christmas 2016/17. This was our second visit to the hotel, the first being at Easter 2011. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and very nicely presented. We were on a DBB deal and the food was truly superb, including Christmas lunch itself. Portpatrick is a lovely small village. The hotel staff were very friendly...

Stayed at the Fernhill between Christmas and New Year, and enjoyed a relaxing, but lovely break after a busy Christmas. Evrrything was excellent as usual - from arrival to departure. Restaurant food is top notch, from canapes, starter, mains, dessert, to post dinner tea/coffee and butter tablet. Breakfast too is as good as any we've had in hotels, with cooked...

Stayed here for a few days over Christmas with our dog. Staff are amazing as was the food, exceeded all expectations. It is not an ultra modern hotel but it is clean and in very good condition. The views from the reception and dining room are stunning. Shame dogs are not allowed in the bar, but a small gripe.

Excellent hotel, good food, very friendly service. Wonderful countryside and great view over lovely harbour. Only drawback was our room which was big and comfortable but rather cold. Value for money. Would return.

Stayed here on a very good deal including dinner. View from the reception area is wonderful, and we got a lovely, spacious room with the same view - well worth asking for. Very warm welcome and a complementary sherry when we arrived.Dinner was a very good deal, with an interesting menu and good service. Nice cosy bar too.
