My wife and I stayed last Friday evening for dinner and tasting of Taittenger Champagne. From arrival to departure on the Saturday morning, we experienced nothing but perfect service and food in a fantastic spotless small hotel. Upon arrival on the Friday afternoon we were greeted with a nice smile from Lauren. She gave us a quick tour of the...

We stayed here as a couple for an overnight in February. We attended one of the hotels wine nights - a four course meal with paired wine throughout - in our case, Taittinger champagnes. We stayed in a lake view double room on the ground floor. The room was spotless and very comfortable with a good size bathroom, large double...

Stopped here for lunch with my wife and 7 year old daughter. It was very quiet but the ladies serving lunch were very friendly and the food was excellent. The location is pretty special with breath taking views across the lake. Definitely recommended for families with children.

Stunning views from the conservatory on a crisp winters morning and the restaurant was toasty warm despite being a very cold day. We were served quickly and the food was tasty with good portion sizes but unfortunately it then got busy and the kitchen staff and restaurant couldn't cope. We waited so long for desert we had to ask for...

We'd wanted to stay here for a while after a friend had taken us for lunch. We weren't disappointed. We stayed in a heritage room (room 7) which was large with double aspect Windows and a huge comfy bed. The bathroom was lovely too. The bar and restaurant are so inviting and what a view. The lake shore only yards...

Visited this hotel one sunday afternoon while out for a drive planning lunch or even a snack. At 3.30pm we were told by the waitress "Sorry no food at this time". Not even a scone was on offer. Bad reflection of hotel.

I had a hankering for Sunday roast and remembered going here once years before. The location is beautiful of course, even on a cold, grey day in January and the roast was just what I was hoping for - tender, juicy meat, Yorkshire pudding good enough to forgive it going with pork! and lovely vegetables and gravy. The Key Lime...

We had a lovely overnight stay at this very comfortable hotel which was a birthday present for my husband and myself from our daughter and friend. Very nice welcome when we arrived and tea and scones available. The dinner was excellent and again great friendly and efficient service. Lovely view from the lounge. The lounge area with fire was very...

Popped in on the of chance of a table, and there were plenty spare so we opted for a view over the Lake wher we glimpsed mallard, cormorant and heron. We both opted for Roast of the day which was lamb. It was delicious, had all the trimmings as promised, but could have benefited from a hotter serving plate as it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In The Trossachs National Park yet easily accessible, being an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh and twenty minutes from both Loch Lomond and the ancient City of Stirling. You drive through some remarkable Scottish scenery and upon reaching Port of Menteith, the Lake unfolds before you with the hotel nestling lakeside. Inside you will find a delightful house, much enlarged from the original 19th Century Manse, fully refurbished in recent years. Our inspiration has been the unique Lakeside setting and natural habitat for seasonal and permanent residents such as Osprey, Otter, Geese, Swans our duck family and more. Decorated in the warm and welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel with muted tones and the extensive use of local timber and stone, perfectly complimenting this special waterfront setting. ... more   less
