Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect site for WHW backpackers. All you need: free, hot showers, covered eating and cooking area, free Wi-Fi and lots of charging points. Also pizza delivery! Some pitchs slightly sloping but just get over it. Didn’t bother me. Cannot believe some of the whiny, negative reviews on here, can’t really fault this for what it is: a great stopover for lightweight campers. Highly recommended and do try the pizza!

This was a letdown. Stayed in the Landpod for one overpriced night. £124 got us a cramped sleeping arrangement for three tall people, one sink for potentially 40 different pitches, substandard toilets, showers with no hot water, poor service from onsite staff and finally, it’s estimation that Drymen is 20 minutes away on foot is fiction. It takes 30 mins minimum and that’s fit walkers. Disappointing. Hugely.

I stayed at Drymen Camping while walking The West Highland Way. This is a great place to stop on the first night! It's literally on the route, no need to detour! I booked a Greenpod which was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. It had shelving and a hanging rail for clothes, as well as a table and chairs, both inside and out. There was lighting in the pod and a USB charging point, all solar powered. I loved the environmentally friendly aspect of this accommodation! The whole site is very neat, clean and tidy with a generous number of very well-maintained toilets and showers. There is a covered drying/cooking/eating/socialising area, for the inevitable wet days, as well as spacious pitches and outdoor tables. Gav, the owner, was exceptionally helpful and the site had a lovely atmosphere. There is a well-stocked shop on site, as well as the option of ordering homemade pizza from the B&B next door. It was quite the novelty to have a pizza delivered, piping hot, to my pod! Delicious! I had a a very pleasant stay and an excellent night's sleep here. Thank you

This site has well maintained pitches and level ground for hiking tents. I did see the odd car in another field. The chap running friendly and helpful. There are limited spaces so busy times be aware. There is a bank of plugs for phone charging in a large barn with picnic tables, this is where the toilets and showers are. The showers are nice and large and he always seems to be cleaning those and the toilets. So very clean It right on West Highland Way, he has a small shop and seemed to have all you want as a walker. From plasters to baked beans. They also sell home made Pizzas in the evenings you text/WhatsApp your order these were really nice and highly recommend them.

Great camp site, owners very friendly and helpful and perfect for a stop on the WHW. Toilets and showers were clean and there was a nice under cover area for communal eating (and to then dry out the tent a bit after a wet night!). The communal area was also a great way to meet other travellers.

We loved our stay at Drymen campsite. Very quite and tranquil with mainly walkers from West Highland Way. We stayed 2 nights on a large pitch as a base for doing stage 2 of John Muir Way. Facilities are basic but adequate and fairly new. Large covered area for cooking and eating if weather bad. Could do with another couple of sinks for washing up, there is only one, but apart from that was totally happy with everything else.

First family camping trip was a great success. Decided to book the land pod which was so much fun ! It was clean , had very comfortable beds suitable for 2 adults and 2 children and we had a picnic bench and canopy right outside just for us. The helpful and friendly owner Gavin even supplied us with sleeping bags and pillows . Showers and toilets were very clean and you could charge your phone. Walked up conic hill during the day which is a 15 minute drive away from the campsite then ate at a lovely restaurant in drymen at night. Kids had a ball and can’t wait to go back camping/ glamping again !!!

A very welcoming place, even if you arrive a day early! Tracey and Gavin could not have been more helpful and accommodating as they helped us out and were able to let us stay longer than planned. The additional amenities in the barn are great and will make all the difference on wet (or maybe midgey) days. Showers and toilets all spotlessly clean and the pitches neat and well organised. Dogs allowed. Thank you. We would highly recommend Drymen Camping.

We spent night 1 of the West Highland Way camping here and it was fantastic. The facilities are excellent, the field was well looked after and in good condition. There's a big sheltered area with lots of picnic benches under cover, most of us were cooking evening meals & breakfast there. We had a tent pole snap as we were erecting our tent and the owner could not have been more helpful! He was offering tape (as requested), he was finding pegs to splint the pole, came back multiple times with tips ideas. In the end, he let me use his dad's workshop to hacksaw the affected pole section out using a vice. He stood by and shone a torch while I worked and held the bungie cord out of range of the saw the whole time I was working. He really went the extra mile and I could tell he really cares about his customers. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area.

We spent the first night of the West Highland Way here and it was a very enjoyable night. We had the pods which were comfortable and tidy. Good facilities and top marks to the owners who saved the day by driving us into Drymen after our taxi failed to show up. It was very much appreciated. Aiming to redo WHW in next couple of years and will defo be back!
