Rooms facing the street are a bit noisy but windows close fine.

Ours were rectangular and opened quite far. Probably about a metre and a half in length not sure all the rooms are the same. The hotel reception are lovely , ring them and specifically ask for a spacious room / large windows. They were great sorting out our family dog friendly room.
No entertainment, very quiet when we were there in October, there's a pub up the road but we were the only one's in there when we went in. The Spar shop up the road sells reasonable priced bottles of wine.
