Having visited a couple of times I still cant fault this hotel. The service is second to none and the breakfast is fantastic. The menu in the restaurant is very varied and has something for everyone. The food is of excellent quality and reasonably priced. The staff are attentive and courteous and even seen some familiar faces special thanks to Mikalia... More

I noticed the mixed reviews below, however i rather enjoyed this hotel. This is a old historic hotel with lots of character and features such us beautiful views, friendly staff and very good food. Yes, some parts of the hotel are a bit dated, no lift and lots of stairs, but don't let that spoil your visit. I think this... More

The hotel is slightly dated but as are many parts of Rothesay (the country side and views are gorgeous around the island). The hotel is fine, a little green with simple sheets and brown blanket and two flat pillows. We did not have a sea view and there was a bar on our side that played loud music through the... More

Beautiful hotel with an incredible view. Rooms were very classical just ideal for a romantic weekend Food was good but basic The staff were great however was shocked by the o.c.d of the morning waitress. I understand the need of cleanness in the hotel but to organise my plate while eating did shock me. I will def vist again

Spent six happy nights. There isn't a lift but if you ask, someone will bring your cases up for you. The food was very good, able to have a very good and filling breakfast with variety. Dinner menu was varied and the food lovely. Staff service is excellent! Must recommend Mairi who was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bed... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night as attending a wedding on the island. Booked this place after reading good reviews on here, but sadly our experience just left a feeling of being completely ripped off! Paid £104 for double room, inc breakfast which seemed pretty steep but thought this would offer a decent nights stay.... More

I wish I could write a good review for this hotel, but there was several issues. We were supposed to be staying for 3 nights. The hotel is right on the promenade, and parking is on street if you bring your car. Luckily we only had a light suitcase with us, as there is no lift. Reception is on the... More

Was really looking forward to a nice meal with family as the foods always been good here. Unfortunately it was a huge let down on all fronts. The food was very average with a high price. When you expect to have a nice mixed grill, you don't expect it to be served with average chippy chips and frozen peas. The... More
