Visiting the Royal An Lochan Hotel for an overnight break away, we were happy with our lovely room overlooking the water of the Kyles across to the green and brown island of Bute. We were even happier with the wonderful meal. I enjoyed a delicious pepper and goat's cheese terrine followed by a simply wonderful cod bouillabaisse with scallops, mussels,...

Your very kind review is much appreciated, if I remember rightly you admitted you both loved your food but were also quite critical about it, so for us to recieve such a glowing review I know Chef's dishes and the front of house staffs attention to detail ticked all your boxes. We look forward to welcoming you back to the...

We booked a last minute night db&b on a bit of a whim. Lovely location, welcoming hosts who weren't intrusive and a lovely chilled out meal in the bar at night. The sea view room came into its own as we watched the hills on Bute turn red with the setting sun and the colours lit up the sky at...

Thank you for taking time out to write a review about your stay. It is amazing the number of guests I speak to that never make time for a relaxing bath, here at The Royal an Lochan all our rooms have normal to large size baths, none of these pokey, lets fit it in a small gap baths! You are...

The hotel is beautiful, as is Tighnabruaich. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated with a lovely big bed. The en-suite bathroom was also very large with a lovely big bath tub. We had wonderful views of the sea from our large bedroom windows. The first night we dined in the restaurant, which was very lovely. The second night we...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, letting others know how good your stay was. I am glad you like to two dinning areas we have, which are totally different in atmosphere food and clientele. Although all our shellfish dishes served in the restaurant are availible in the Shinty Bar. The bar is your typical pub memu,...

We visited this hotel on a mid-week break during October and found it to be lovely. We paid extra for a room with a sea view and it was well worth it. The sunrise every morning was beautiful. Our room was really big and spacious. The bed was massive and really comfortable. I normally struggle to sleep when we're away...

Thank you once again for a lovely review. It is nearly 7years that we have had the hotel and we have met some lovely people, yourself included. We obviously make a lasting impression as these guests keep coming back, maybe just once a year but for us that is amazing and it is so nice when you bring others with...

We had a two night break in a sea view room. The view is magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Breakfast is delicious - having noted some reviews we wondered if it would be substantial and indeed it was. Haggis, black pudding, bacon, egg, sausage, potatoe scone and tomato with offers of extra toast and hot drinks. We ate...

A rather delayed response for which I must appologise. Wow, your review reads like a press release, thank you. I think it just sums us up without me adding anything to it. Thank you for letting others read about your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back. Christine

We booked for a 2 night stay and were delighted with the Hotel and the wonderful food. We were warmly greeted and both Keith & Christine made sure we had everything we required. They were interested in where we visited during our days. The food was superb and so well presented. It was hard to choose just what to have....

I am rather late in responding to your review, but once again the weather is lovely. I am sitting in my house at the back of the hotel catching up on 'paperwork' with the patio doors open and the sun streaming in, it is towards the end of March but blue skies and sunshine just make everything, even 'paperwork' more...

Took advantage of special offer in October to stay at the Royal and loved the relaxing decor and quiet but friendly atmosphere. Room was great with huge bed and amazing bathroom. It still amazes me as to how many people come to our hotel just to relax and get away from it all. As we are only 2hrs away from central Glasgow, when you are here you are still not a million miles away from city life. Many of our returning guests arrive armed with books and some, a weeks worth...
