Our room and bathroom were really clean and everything well thought out. The whole place has the air of being regularly painted and cared for. We got the impression that the owners are very committed to making the place run well - they are really nice people and seem interested in their guests. The food was really good, all parts...

strayed just one night but it was an enjoyable stay. Spotlessly clean. Good size rooms. Had evening mean in Bistro which was really nice- ( BYOB). Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice touch with a selections of DVD's and books available. Two minor points - bed a little lumpy, perhaps time for a mattress change and shower not very...

We are from Australia and this was the only accommodation that we found in Scotland that was akin to what we would call a Motel. The rooms were very comfortable and private and all the little extras (eg wine glasses in the room) were taken care of. We dinner here on the night we stayed and I have to say...

We only stayed one night but Jim & Ellie made us feel completely at home. We had an evening meal on the Thursday night and it was simply delicious. We did however find the bed a little on the hard side but we both had a good nights sleep so I guess it couldn't have been that bad. Room was...

Three of us stayed overnight on a touring holiday. We all found the rooms and facilities very comfortable with every thing you could need. Jim and Elie both very welcoming. We would highly recommend a meal in the bistro, delicious home cooking and breakfast just as good.

Being great film fans we were fascinated by the history of the Empire. Now we know it's more famous for Jim and Elie's friendly service and the lovely food. The sea bream was probably the best I have had. There is so much to do in the area as well that we barely scratched the surface, so we aim to...

Stayed for two nights on a golfing trip. Excellent value and really friendly welcome. Great breakfast just a pity the bistro wasn't open on Monday or Tuesdays. We know where to stay on our next trip to this area. Thanks to Jim and Elie for running such a great place.

Once again a great stop over in the Empire Travel Lodge with our hosts, Jim and Elie. We have been regulars at the Empire for several years and it seems to just get better. The ease of booking, the friendly welcome and excellent breafasts are superb. It is also the little touches that we like. Simple things such as a...

Regularly stay here when in the area for work. Friendly welcome from Jim and Elie. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Food is excellent & all homecooked. Best cooked breakfast I've had. Evening meals equally as good, highly recommend the steak pie & sticky toffee pudding.

I stayed for one night on a business trip along with 2 colleagues. We were made very welcome and shown to 3 large, comfortable, well equipped and very clean rooms. Good value for the price. This hotel was built as a cinema for the 1938 Empire exhibition in Glasgow and then moved to Lochgilphead where it operated as a cinema...
