Booked a family room as a stop over during our trip home from Skye. As this was priced very reasonable I was pleasantly surprised by the location (amazing), rooms (perfectly comfortable and clean...although could do with a little TLC), and breakfast (despite the very watery porridge). Another positive is the bar/restaurant which was very busy but a great place. The... More

Let me start by saying the view is fabulous. The location is great for hikers, campers, and most outdoor activities for the terrain. The facilities were quaint and what was expected by the name, this is not a Hilton and they don't pretend to be. The food was about the same as most places we visited there, poor. But, you don't... A welcome night in comfort in a welcoming and friendly hotel. Food is excellent, we enjoyed an evening meal and an excellent breakfast which is cooked to order. This hotel is located on the West Highland Way and is highly recommended.

Spent lovely relaxing few days in the wilds of Scotland at this lovely hotel. Views to die for and excellent service, for anyone who wants a break up that way for walking or just relaxing, I would certainly recommend

I stayed at the MacDonald hotel for 4 nights. It was my first trip to the Highlands and I was blown away. What a stunning location. The hotel bar has a big deck overlooking the lake and it's such a relaxing place to hang out at the end of a long day walking. Such amazing views of the landscape. I... More

Stayed in log cabin. £20 was a bargain, late check-in wasn't a problem. Breakfast was good. Its located on the West Highland Way. Helen the owner gave the best customer service I have seen in years, makes such a difference when the owners are directly involved. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This was my second visit to the Macdonald Hotel in the last two years and was amazed to see all the improvements the new owners have achieved. The new decking, front facing to the loch...we sat outside as the sun set and I honestly can't even find he words to describe how stunning this was, whilst enjoying a fine whisky... More

We stayed for a few nights earlier this year. The service was brilliant as usual, my wife is a vegetarian and found it very pleasing that she could eat something different every day. I personally was happy to eat the haggis and beef burger because it's a personal favourite of mine!! The room was clean and tidy as were all... More

Stopped here for lunch while in the area for the day and first off, amazing view! Staff were really friendly and the food was great, it came out quickly and hot. Great atmosphere and dog friendly. They were able to provide colouring pages and pencils for the kids and biscuits for the dog (who then proceeded to wait at the... More
