So this is my 3rd visit in as many years and it wont be my last, came on my own by motorbike for the night and after 300 miles the cabins and the highlander burger were a very welcoming treat. I was quickly checked in so I could get all my gear put inside from the rain, a quick shower...

My friend and I (along with the dog) stayed here on the last stretch of the West Highland Way. The cabin was more than comfortable for the two of us. Although I think there would be a struggle if there were four of us as originally planned, there isn't much room other than the beds. There is a heater which...

The MacDonald was our first stopping point as we hiked the West Highland Way from north to south, and it was by far my favorite place to stay. Mark and Helen are wonderful hosts. They and their staff made us welcome when we were tired and grubby and went above and beyond to make sure we had every comfort and...

I arrived at the hotel exhausted and miffed as I had to stop walking the West Highland Way due to injury. I had the warmest greeting from Ben, a hot bowl of soup whilst I waited for my hubby to arrive with the dogs (he carried on with the walking). I was treated like royalty. I was shown to our...

Last stop before Fort William while walking the West Highland Way, I think it's safe to say that this was the least comfortable we had stayed in, very old, dated and tired hotel. Dirty carpets and small uncomfortable bed in the room although they did have a bath which was a blessing. Food was adequate. Only good thing about the...

As owners Mark and I are very hands on, I checked you out and served your breakfast and I would have much preferred to hear and respond to your comments face to face rather than on a review site. We've had the hotel for 3 years and in that time repainted all of the rooms and upgraded the soft furnishings,...

I stopped by the Bothy Bar one evening for drinks with a friend and we were lucky enough to meet the owner(s). Mark and his partner were extremely friendly and generous, and we spent a fun evening chatting. The bartender was also very welcoming and made sure we were all set up to watch a football match by a nice,...

We stayed at the cabins from the Friday to the Sunday had a lovely stay the cabins are spacious and clean. They have a laundry room with a kettle and a sink right next to the cabins, the shower and toilets is only a short walk from the cabins. The pub right next to the cabins has a great atmosphere...

Stayed in one of the cabins for 4 nights, with my dog, each cabin has 4 bunk beds and a heater for colder months. Plenty of room for luggage/rucksacks. There is an indoor cooking/washing up area, outside the cabins. Two showers and toilets, a 2 minute walk. Facilities and cabins were spotless. Dogs are allowed to stay in the cabin...

Stayed on my own for one night before heading further north. It was a very welcoming place with lovely rooms and facilities. Everyone was very friendly and the food both in the evening and breakfast was excellent. It was the first time I've stayed in a hotel on my own but felt completely relaxed and will certainly return when walking...

The MacDonald Hotel and Cabins in Kinlochleven is at the head of Loch Leven with breathtaking views. Ideally situated for those walking the West Highland Way, along with other walks in the area. Mark and I took the hotel over on 17th January 2014 and appreciate all of the reviews on Tripadvisor, but look forward to receiving our own.
