Our trip was a cheap weekend break for a family of 5, mum dad 11 year old 10 year old. It was a perfect place for base camp! The Hobbit house was lovely and warm with more than adequate facilities. To boot we had the use of the communal kitchen/ dining room. Great friendly outgoing staff and remarkable value for...

I have stayed at this hostel many times and always found the management helpful and friendly. Most accommodating. Local shop for all your self catering needs and pubs, all within easy walking distance. Great location for hill walking.

Stopped over for a night with friends to break up our trip further north. Very clean and spacious pods with all the amnesties that you would need. TV, kettle, small fridge, microwave and electric heater. The electric heater heats the place quickly which was good as it was freezing outside. Close to the shower/toilet block and only a short walk...

I booked here for my 30th which is on NYE. We stayed for three nights in a pod for four people and expected to be cramped and were concerned it would be cold! This was far from the case. The pods hold heat really well and are spacious and very clean! they look upon a river and the scenery is...

We had itchy feet after New Year but it's just a wee bit too soon to break out our tent a camping pod makes a good alternative. We rented one of the pods attached to the Blackwater Hostel. We had a 2 person pod and on reflection we would rent a bigger one in future as we found it a...

thank you so much for taking the time to review the pods, I do agree with you that the two bedded pods are small for 5 night, they are ideal if you are only staying 1or2 nights, we hope you visit us again in the near future. all the very best regards Patrick

We stayed in the mega glamping pod (4 person) and it was everything we could have asked for and super clean, heated, we had a microwave and even a wee table and chairs! The staff were very helpful and efficient, and despite there being some confusion with the online booking on our side, they were very understanding and said straight...

Very clean and tidy. Self catering in the huts is a microwave, but you are only a short walk to get to a pud/restaurant . Everything you need for a good nights sleep before the next days hillwalking. I would definitely use these facilities again

Although the Hobbit house was small it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The facilities in the hostel were good and the staff friendly and helpful. Would use it again if I was walking in that area.
