I first came to the Kilfinan Hotel in 2009 when I had a cup of tea there. Due to the hospitality of Madelon my family and I decided to spend a night in the Hotel during our next trip to Scotland two years later. Ever since, I have stayed a couple of times with a friend or family (from two...

Since my visit here last year was cancelled due to weather, it was with a keen sense of anticipation that this month I was at last to visit this hotel as I know this area very well. I really wished that I had booked in the hotel where I have stayed in previous years. The room I was first allocated...

We booked here for our anniversary last week, upon arrival Madelon greeted us, and from that point on we were catered to hand and foot by her. She really made our trip a memorable one. The owners were on holiday so Madelon not only was our bar maid, waitress, cook and house cleaner, but she was also great company, chatty,...

We booked last minute at The Kilfinan Hotel and were very happy with our choice. Lovely spot, super food and great staff. Madelon, together with Helen made us feel very welcome and worked tirelessly to make all the guests comfortable. The room was well appointed and clean- the lack of a TV was of no concern to us. The en...

I can't say enough good things about Kilfinan Hotel! My husband and I spent the weekend there in early February. We were the only ones in the hotel and it was so peaceful! Helen and Andrew made us feel right at home! The food was fresh and delicious and our room was so comfortable! We spend our Saturday night at...

This is the kind of Schottish hotel you hope to find in the Hebridis. Small, cosy, individually decorated rooms, very well maitained, lovely looking bar and restaurant and very good food. It is run by a small team and the love and care put into this place can be noticed in everything. It is on a road (hardly any traffic)...

My wife and I spent three nights at the hotel. The hard-working staff (Madelon and Helen) made us very welcome. Our room was comfortable, the food was very good, and we enjoyed the cozy bar with its wood fire. There are good walks down to the loch from the hotel. Wi-Fi is available in the reception rooms. We would be...

7 of us cycled here, a great cycle but save some energy for the hill. Welcome was friendly, food was good quality though being in a remote place it was not as widely stocked as a city hotel. Rooms were comfortable.

On the back of an enforced sudden change of holiday plans, the original intention was to spend a couple of nights here and then move on, but we ended up staying for the whole week. The welcome was personal and warm which basically set the tone for the week. The food was superb, both the breakfast and dinner. The ambiance...
