I went here for my 50th birthday. My friend and I had always wanted to return to the west coast of Scotland after a charity bike ride some years ago and decided to go for a luxury trip. The hotel is stunning and every little touch has been thought of. The room was beautiful. It wasn't huge but the bathroom... More

This was our 2nd stay here. Yes, the Hotel is far away from civilization. But this is the important thing, you should know! The building is old and could need some renovation outside. But honestly, this is not important. It is more important that you are a bit out of civilization. It is more important to open your mind for... More

Interesting old collection of buildings linked by more modern sections give a quirky and unusually charming ambience. Together with the stunning situation and superb food made for an altogether excellent stay. The restaurant offers a set menu with an opportunity earlier to change elements if required. The food uses local ingredients, including unusual 'roadside' herbs and was both innovative and... More

Well we stayed here in August (I have only just got the chance to post) having booked two double rooms with my wife and children, to be put into one room with one extra fold out bed (almost touching the floor as was that broken)! To be later told by a rude woman at reception in her late 50's who... More

The location is remote excellent if you want a relaxing break or holiday overlooking the loch. In need of refurbishment over priced no where else to eat nearest 12 miles away. Found mould on walls and carpets. Sorry cannot recommend although other visitors have posted very different reviews.

This was the one of several hotels we were booked at by a travel/tour company for an 8-day visit to Scotland and it was the only one that disappointed us. As we made our way down the only way to reach this remote location (a seven-mile single track road) we were hopeful because the 2016 Fodor guidebook had given it... More

Booked in to this lovely hotel last week, while on a trip to Oban, were given a huge suite with a four poster bed and a spa bath that could fit four at a time! The staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother. Next morning lovely full Scottish breakfast.

My husband and I spent a night here a couple of days ago. We travel a lot and spend our time travelling all Over scotland so when I discovered this place I had to book it as the location was stunning but unfortunately the location was the only thing that was stunning. It is very much a mismatch of shabby... More

After a 7 mile journey along a single track road, the hotel stands on its own in a spectacular setting on the west bank of Loch Awe. A smiling welcome from a happy young lady, whose name I failed to get, saw us checked in to our rooms without delay. We had been upgraded, she told us, and the view... More

We arrived in dark but in daylight it is clear the hotel needs refurbishment and to be fair workmen arrived in morning and work seems to have been commissioned. Inside the rooms were very tired and again in the morning I noticed the bathroom was old and tired and needed replacing. The location is remote and I was surprised that... More
