I desided to take my girlfriend (now fiancee) away on a romantic break, I looked for somewhere that would have the wow factor. I was so nervous as i had only seen the pool house on pictures, After arrival we were greeted by one of Peters daughters, this family run peice of tranquil heaven was such a delight to experience....

Set where the river Ewe flows into Loch Ewe, the hotel is beautifully placed at the waterfront. Traditional Highland way of operating - dinner is at 7.30 and the menu is fixed (but it's easy to let them know anything you don't like and they alter your meal) as is the way in so many relatively remote highland lodges, but...

Family run hotel with lots of attention for the clients, excellent food served. Father Peter is an absolute angel. It was a privilege to have met him and to have stayed at the hotel. Location really feet away from the sea. very quiet at night. A real treat if you stay here.

at nearly £900 for 2 days for 2 people including half board you expect the excellence so often provided by Mr & Mrs Smith endorsed establishmenmts but i am afraid that it falls sadly short. Ok...the food was better than average and the room was nice (nicer if it had had duvets rather than old fashioned uncomfortable sheets and blankets)....

Also Breakfast was beautiful. The dining rooms looks direclty onto Loch Ewe and what a view!! Spectacualr hotel and spectacular staff. A must stay.

Staying at Pool House is an experience. Guest rooms and the whole house is decorated in a very over stated fashion so if you are wanting a minimalistic, no fuss, no clutter feel B&B this is NOT the place for you. The owners are super friendly and will go out of their way for you, breakfast was great, rooms are...

Set in a beautiful location, the Pool House was exactly what we hoped for. Individual, bold and quirky in character, at first, the decor in our bedroom (the Boathouse) was odd but somehow worked. The bathroom was superb, with a proper sized bath. The bar boasts a full size quality snooker table and a walk in whiskey cabinet. Although other...

I think I met the angel Peter and his helpers Margaret and Liz! Their halos were just about visible and by heavens how they looked after us. I had a wonderful time and wished I could of stayed longer. If you get a chance to go to Poolewe you will meet some lovely people, eat some fabulous food and most...

We had our honeymoon here over Christmas and had the most relaxing time. Peter and the family are all so lovely and welcoming - they make you feel like personal guests. The food was out of this world.

Had three incredible days in Pool House as a special birthday treat for my better half. I’ll try and keep this short: From the moment the door was opened to us by Peter, to saying goodbye (reluctantly) we felt totally spoiled. The modest exterior seen from the road does little to prepare for the abundance of paintings, genuine antiques and...
