We were there for a family celebratory dinner. Had dinner in a private dining room, drinks in a relaxed lounge area, overnight stay & breakfast. Service throughout was superb - nothing was too much trouble. Food was also brilliant (both dinner & breakfast). Some family mentioned that road noise was an issue (I didn't notice) - so go for a...

I was on business nearby. There are only 2 hotels to choose from, I picked the Cairn as the photos on their website looked warm and inviting. The Scottish theme is cosy, warm and relaxing. Upon arrival I checked into my room. It was small but clean. I requested an iron and ironing board from reception, it arrived in minutes....

Went for a meal in the Cairn Hotel Restaurant a few days ago. We ordered steak & ale pie as it sounded very tasty. What a disappointment. When it arrived at the table we thought it was lasagne. The puff pastry was totally flat and consisted of square about 3" x 3" and 1/4" thick placed on the steak which...

Stayed here twice in February whilst in the area on business the rooms are adequate, but a little dated and could do with larger TV's The food in the hotel is very nice and good value for money, drinks were also reasonably priced for a hotel. The staff were fantastically friendly and a real asset to the hotel, made us...

Once again everything was fantastic with the food and service, been here a few times now for a meal and never disappointed. Great value for money, excellent portion size and staff that are always happy to help and provide service with a smile. Would recommend to anyone.

We went to The Cairn very recently for a family meal, having booked a private room. The standard of food diners can expect in West Lothian isn't high, but the meal slightly exceeded them. However we finished - quite literally - with a bad taste in our mouths. For starters, most of the party had haggis pakora or minestrone soup....

I booked the Cairn Hotel for a small event, an afternoon tea for 65 following my late mother's funeral. From the first visit to view the hotel, to the event itself, the staff could not have been more helpful, relaxed, caring and genuine. The day itself was so well run and how refreshing is it these days surrounded my mediocre...

On the evening of my wedding in October 2016 at the Cairn Hotel a group from another wedding party created a disturbance which subsequently lead to members of my wedding party being set upon in what I can only describe as a shameful display of drunken behaviour that was poorly managed by the night porter in charge. He was telling...
