This B&B has possibly spoiled us forever. We usually prefer the anonymity of hotels, but Joanna and Alan really made us feel like we were in a home away from home (as cliche as that may sound). We don't recall ever visiting a B&B that was so well-kept and clean. The interior is very well thought out, and everything fits...

We had a wonderful stay at Bealach Uige with the great hospitality and food provided by Joanna and her family. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Joanna. The room was very large and cosy with a lovely view and a very good sized bathroom with a great shower! There were so many...

We had a wonderful long weekend in Joanna&Allan's lovely home. We were made to feel very welcome by the whole family and Joanna cooked some delicious breakfasts - possibly the best porridge we ever had! The property is located in one of the quieter areas of Skye, but with easy access to the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing....

Our stay on Isle of Skye was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland, with its sheer wild beauty and ever-changing light. We stayed for two days, and regret not having planned more. Joanna and her family made us feel welcome. She went out of her way to help us: pointing out terrific morning walks, warning us beforehand...

Bealach Uige was the highlight of our (extremely enjoyable) trip to the Highlands and Skye. Staffin as a location is stunning, as is the house, and Joanna and Allan and their lovely children made us feel very welcome. Joanna's attention to detail is incredible, from the tea- and coffee-making facilities to the drawer full of useful books and maps to...

We simply loved this place! It could be out of a Interior Design Magazine! Thanks for the warm welcome and everything - organizing our next stay with Karen and the other recommendations. We certainly will be back one day!

Joanne and Alan welcomed me into their home, not just their business. Food was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, conversation very pleasant, rooms tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I very much hope to return

We loved staying with a local family who had grown up in the area. Joanna and her family were so friendly. The room was large with a comfortable bed. She has a flair for decorating with antiques. It was interesting to hear about the children's education and the lifestyle in Staffin. We stayed three nights and would definitely do it...

We had three lovely nights here in the green room - May 2015, The most comfortable and tasteful B&B we have stayed in. The decoration was exceptional, pleasant and welcoming. Joanna Alan and the children were lovely hosts and made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing, they deserve to be Number 1...

We had a lot of great stays during our vacations in Scotland, but this was the best. Very stylish and tasteful interior, the bed is like heaven - you feel as if you would live within a retro-interior-magazine. We had the room downstairs, which was welcomely cozy and carefully furnished. Plus the host Joanna was lovely, communicative, helpful and cooked...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm highland welcome awaits you at our beautifully renovated family croft house. We renovated and extended a traditional croft house in 2003 and have managed to modernize it without losing the Highland Croft House character. I have managed to weave some of my grandmothers antique furniture into the décor so the rooms have a traditional feel while being fresh and modern with a touch of luxury for the visitors to the Trotternish Peninsula of Skye. We are situated on a working croft in the quiet Gaelic speaking crofting village of Staffin. Staffin is 16 miles North of the capital Portree, 50 miles from the toll free bridge and a 20 minute drive to Uig ferry terminal. ... more   less
