For any hotel (let alone one claiming to be 4 stars and charging for it) I expect basic professional service - not being treated as an inconvenience. When we checked in we were assigned a room with a broken lock. After an employee took 15 min of wrenching the key around to finally get the room door open we couldn’t...

Nestling at the side of the road the hotel is a welcome and pretty sight after a long drive. After receiving a warm welcome we were shown to a cosy room with hillside view. The whole hotel is tastefully decorated and certainly not a place I'd want to trail my muddy walking boots through! The breakfast was tasty and freshly...

We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and helped upstairs with our luggage. Much appreciated at our mature age. The room was as described, nicely furnished, the bathroom a bit cramped and the door stuck. We looked forward to our 5 day stay. The restaurant however was another matter with it's very expensive fixed price dinner menu. The menu was...

This is a fabulous small hotel, guaranteed a warm welcome by Rose-Mary and Adam, your hosts. The rooms are terrific, and the food is amazing! Thoroughly recommend a stay here, love it! Part of the Sonas Hospitality group on Skye, they even have a 50 foot yacht you can have a champagne lunch on whilst sailing around the islands, between...

Stayed at Torovaig House on the recommendation of our daughter. Adam gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our room, which was a comfortable size with lovely hillside views. We had booked for dinner and started by sampling whiskies in the lounge. Adam was a genial and knowledgeable host for the whiskies. He also discussed our plans for...

There was nothing particularly wrong with Torvaig House but it just did not warrant the price for the accommodation or the food. The room was the smallest we stayed in for our 2 week Scottish holiday. There was nothing "feature" about the bed. There was nowhere to place the suitcases and there was very little space to place our clothes..in...

This is a hotel aiming at the high end market but missing the mark entirely. I did have high expectations as it is not a cheap place to stay but gave it every chance and it failed every time. Visit starts having stayed at a wonderful self catering cottage and this was meant to be the highlight of our stay...

Our family of five adults spent 2 nights here at the end of our Scotland trip. Though the weather was acting up, the atmosphere at Toravaig was warm and friendly. The staff works hard to accommodate and the food was excellent. The rooms were well appointed with either pasture or water views. When the ferry was cancelled due to wind,...

In spite of mostly nice furniture this was a three star hotel that's very expensive. Rooms are small and staff is very junior. Most expensive place we stayed in Scotland and least pleasant. I did have a good Scottish breakfast but wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Toravaig is beautiful, comfortable, and staffed with the best people! Rose-Mary and the rest of the staff are very warm and friendly, happily chatting, or providing any information you might need. The rooms are cozy, elegant, and very comfortable. If you choose to eat dinner at Toravaig house you will be in for a treat. I'm lactose intolerant, and the...
