Threadbare carpets, hard to flush toilets, but beds were ok, shower was hot. Bar served what bars serve. Slightly smelly, very very dated. Free wifi in bar/reception area only. No phones in bedrooms. A lift that may actually have been used by Bonnie Prince Charlie. But what do you expect for the price? It's cheap, yes, but that's what you...

What more can you expect for £40 a night. Booked at booking.com for a business trip. Yes the hotel is worn and tired, but clean. Room was quite dated, but a clean comfortable bed and clean en suite bathroom. Ate in the restaurant, again this was average. Had a pint in the bar which was grim, but headed next door...

Firstly you may read this review and only take away the negatives, however assuming the price we paid remained similar we would probably stay again. It is a good location to base yourself when exploring Skye and as a place to get your head down for the night it fits the bill. The average review is given on this basis....

Just across the bridge the hotel stands as the gateway towards the isle and can be located right travelling through the bridge. The hotel is not expensive as compared to other hotels on Isle and be ready to get what you pay for. The parking is good and easy to get into portree and other parts of isle. Hotel is...

First impressions, we are told, are important. But so are second and third impressions. So the entire coach party looked around, were helped with their luggage, and straight to dinner. The reception area was full of character with a log fire in the corner creating a welcoming warmth. The bar area viewed through the archway looked spacious, ideal for an...

Best part of the hotel was the pleasant lady behind the desk. Old and tired (Hotel not the lady) not much to get excited about. There were 2 bus tours there on the night we stayed and we were told that we could only have breakfast at certain times so staff could accommodate the bus folks. They are now closed...

Okay, so the hotel is in pretty bad shape (the curtains fell down in our room, threadbare carpets, beds like a youth hostel) the food is awful (cold breakfast, food that tastes well past it's sell by date) but it was the last weekend of the season, it's not expensive and you get what you pay for. However I couldn't...

Less than five minutes from the Skye Bridge the Kings Arms seems to be geared towards one night stops for groups. We stayed two nights. The the bedroom and bathroom were clean and well looked after although they were showing signs of wear and tear which is only to be expected. WiFi was only in the reception area but it...

As usual my reviews are based on cheap single accommodation for bikers of 'a certain age'! I booked the Kings Arms because of price. Out on bikes petrol is not cheap, therefore to compound the trip cost with expensive rooms is unnecessary. I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and was horrified! However I'm here. I can only repeat another...
