Stayed here for four nights. House is about 5 minutes walk from town. Derek and Margaret are perfect hosts, friendly, chatty, help you with tourist tips. Breakfast sets you up for the day, and an added bonus of a packed lunch on the Sunday when town is quiet. Already been telling people about here before I wrote this 10/10

Such a warm welcome. Delicious meal prepared by Derek on the first evening after arriving on the 8 pm ferry (very close btw). Lovely house, great rooms, delicious breakfast. Great banter, great advice about what to visit on Lewis and Harris (don't miss those beaches). Great packed lunches for Sunday (when everything closes down on the island). Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a great holiday based in Stornoway and cannot not recommend Fernlea Guest House and owners Margaret and Derek highly enough. Fernlea is a lovely traditional house, has beautiful en suite rooms, comfortable beds and everything is so tasteful and spotlessly clean. It is in an ideal location convenient for the ferry and all the local... More

Derek and Margaret made our stay in the Fernlea B&B a real feeling home. They are warm and helping hosts and care for their guests. The location is all in walking distance to the Stornoway hotspots and easy car access for the day trips on Lewis.

This was our third visit to the Fernlea and we were very well looked after!! Margaret and Derek made us feel at home and cooked us a very tasty breakfast every morning (the marag dhubh was delicious!) The B and B is centrally located and very comfortable. We'll be back again!

The Guest house is located only a few minutes from the Ferry Terminal and Derek Offered to collect us. We had our own car but were running late for a funeral service and he even offered to take us there. The breakfast was lovely and we are both Coeliac and it was all made gluten free with no fuss. Had a wonderful stay here, friendly hosts, clean and tidy, fantastic breakfast which set us up for the day. Derek gave us the benifit of his local knowledge and gave us some ideas about activities and places to visit. We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to all our friends.
