We can truly recommend Askernish! Stayed here for a few nights when visiting the distilleries with my boyfriend last year in May. Our room was nice, spacious and clean with a private bathroom. And Joy, the host, is a joy :) She was also a great help with booking the distillery tours and such! Location is perfect for visiting the...

Stayed here overnight due to an eventful hiking trip which went wrong and caused me to miss the ferry. The owner Joy was extremely helpful in giving me info about ferry times and buses back to Glasgow from the mainland, and even helped me reschedule my bus ticket (thanks!). The room itself was lovely, very well kept and tidy with...

One of the must see places on our road trip of Scotland was Islay. The Askernish couldn't could'nt have been more convenient or comfortable. We actually drove right by it when we got off of the ferry (100 yards). Also you would be very hard pressed to find a nicer more accommodating hostest than Joy.

The B&B was beautiful, my room was extremely comfortable and Joy was an amazing host! My only complaint is that I wish my trip were longer :) When my ferry route was unexpectedly switched, I emailed Joy and she helped me navigate my way to Port Ellen. Breakfast in the morning before my whisky tour was delicious! Overall, very cozy...

What a fabulous guest house this is! My husband had stayed here previously whilst on a cycling tour of the island and didn't hesitate to book again for a long weekend. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Joy...all previous reviews regarding Joy are absolutely true. She is a wonderful hostess and that made our stay even...
