Lovely and personal B&B with very nice and welcoming hosts. Andrew stayed up, even though we arrived very late. Clean and comfortable rooms with lovely view, nice breakfast. Good location, easy parking.

We were there in January and it was sure cold in Islay. However, Sue, mother-in-law to Andrew, was an absolutely warm and friendly host. Andrew was very helpful even though he and his wife were not around. He emailed me to make sure we were prepared before our trip and also asked if he could help with anything before he...

Andrew and Alison simply make it look effortless. My wife and I had a 4-night stay at Bowmore House to start our honeymoon and could not have been happier. We were promptly welcomed upon arrival, received loads of information from Andrew about the island and various distilleries to help maximize our time while we were visiting. The room and bathroom...

We recently spent a long weekend on Islay for our first wedding anniversary and stayed in the Bowmore Suite. The room was very spacious, but comfortable and cosy, even during a November storm. It had a lovely view over the loch and harbour, perfect for stargazing on clear nights. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean with locally made...

Simply put ..this is a fantastic b&b. The room was delightful, clean, spacious and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay a relaxing one. The house is very clean, offers snacks and drinks throughout the day, and the breakfasts were fabulous. The house is situated perfectly for a visit around Islay, is a five minute wander from...

We were in Bowmore for a four day scotch distillery tour visiting approximately nine distilleries. The Bowmore House is operated by the Jackson's. The breakfast was enough to feed an army, excellent quality. The Jackson's were a great couple with two young children. Each room had a name which I do not recall. We were the lucky ones to get...

Nice and cosy B&B in the lovely coastal town of Bowmore. Good service, very helpful friendly staff. They went out of their way to help out and made sure our ferry was all in order (there had been recent disruptions from Port Ellen). Really good breakfasts, I recommend the full english or the smoked mackerel.

My wife and I took an Islay Whisky Tour with Scottish Routes out of Edinburgh and spent three nights at the Bowmore House. Andrew and Alison were great hosts and not only did they provide great accommodations and breakfasts , they were very willing to help us out when trying to decide how we might package and/or ship bottles of...

"Andrew and Alison welcome you to the Bowmore House." They certainly do and a generous hospitality was felt all during our stay. We were on a Whisky Tour, which was very enjoyable, and Andrew provided first class recommendations and information. A wee dram for breakfast was much appreciated. Alison and Andrew treated us like guests in their home, thank you....

The Bowmore House is perfect for touring Islay, as it's central to everything. But more importantly is the accommodating nature of the owners. I've stayed at luxury boutique hotels that weren't as host-friendly as The Bowmore House. It's all in the details. Little niceties everywhere you turn that makes you feel cared for... like they are trying to handle any...
