Had a very pleasant afternoon tea at the popinjay hotel on saturday. very impressed with the service and the tea, sandwiches and cakes were freshly made. if i was being picky i'd say that the sandwich fillings were a bit basic - cheese, tuna and egg, a bit of garnish would not have gone a miss.

Discusting! Unhelpful. Run down and the smell our the room was awful the bed was cold and hard and the dinner was full of fat. We could hear every foot step and door close when we were trying to sleep. Definitely won't be back....

Spent Saturday passed in the Popinjay, celebrating the wedding of my niece. As a venue it was brilliant: loads of space to relax in before the meal & speeches, glorious gardens for the photographs, and a fabulous ballroom for the dancing; The food was a delight: their canapés as we chilled were exquisite, their wedding meal a true delight, and...

We stopped overnight having pre-booked for our journey down to England from the Highlands. We were expecting good things from this "Hotel and Spa" as it was described on the booking site which gave a description which was at odds with what we found. This hotel is seriously tired and needs a lot of investment and refurbishment to bring it...

Family all gathered for afternoon tea to celebrate my 50th birthday. Can't fault anything. Staff all friendly and attentive. Children in the party were well catered for and even the hungry men had plenty to eat! Good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Having had several family celebrations in the Popinjay, including our wedding 28 years ago, we can now add...

We went in and left half an hour later. We asked for two coffee's and the girl at the bar took our order. They never came and we were intending to have lunch there. Having arrived we were not welcomed at all. The woman on reception was on the phone when we arrived and when we left we walked out...
