We have stayed with Margaret twice now and are going back in October for 3 nights DB&B. Margaret is the Most accommodating and friendly lady, you actually think you are staying with your favourite Aunty, very genuine & sincere. I feel that some guests take advantage of her kind nature by asking to use her private kitchen to cook their...

We had an overnight stay because of a quick visit to Edinburgh, so we needed a cheap B and B to rest ourselves. We were greeted by Margaret who showed us to our room and then made us coffee and cake and settled us into the front room where she lit the fire and we settled down to watch TV....

Margaret was an incredibly friendly host, who could not do enough to help us, and great with the kids. Walston Mansion Farmhouse is a great location - handy for Glasgow and Edinburgh, yet remote enough to be in a gorgeous valley that is silent by night.

Margaret is a lovely lady who caters for all our needs with a welcome pot of tea and home made cake on arrival to the minute we reluctantly leave at the end of our stay. The rooms are lovely and clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast and 4 course evening meals are fantastic, with everything home made and at a...

We stayed at Walston Mansion Farmhouse as part of our honeymoon trip around Scotland. I had previously stayed twice 8/9 years ago with my family and was looking forward to going back! Margaret greeted us with a very warm welcome, being offered a cup of tea on arrival. Our room was perfect and even had a rocking horse to entertain...

This was our first stay at Walston Mansion Farmhouse, and I was booking 3 rooms in total - one for me & my Husband, another for a family of 3 & 3rd room for another friend. However, I needn't have worried as to doing the wrong thing - everyone agreed it had been a lovely place to stay. Margaret is...

Having read earlier reviews I would like to give a more up to date one! I arrived on a very wet miserable day having been at a dog show and was greeted with a warm welcome and an immediate offer of a hot drink. I declined the drink as I needed to walk my dog but the offer stood and...

If you are someone who loves smart, modern and plush B&Bs then this one is not for you. What you will get is a warm welcome in this rather quirky but delightful B&B. Mrs Kirby is always welcoming and nothing is usually too problematic even if you wanted breakfast at some unearthly early hour in the morning. Yes, it is...

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Walston Mansion Farmhouse. It is run by Margaret and Norman, a hard-working couple in their 70s (hard to believe, when you see Margaret's get-up-and-go). We were welcomed with a steaming pot of tea and coffee and a plate of home-baking in front of the roaring coal fire in the sitting room. The...

We have now stayed at Walston Mansion Farmhouse which is set in beautiful surroundings, 3 times and we have certainly not been disappointed. It is a very old farmhouse and it it true to say that the standards of furnishing etc is not what you would find in a 'cookie cutter' hotel but the owner can't do enough to care...
