I arrived in Shieldaig on a beautiful evening after an amazing drive down the west coast ,the mountains we're glowing. My boyfriend was working down in Torridon so i had gone down to meet him. He was staying in the self catering flat at the guest house, Tom was an absolute gentleman and offered to make me food even though...

Tommy and Marilyn were such wonderful hosts. I'm saddened to see negative comments regarding Tom being chatty. I was on a 5 night solo camping trip when I stayed at Rivendell to escape from unrelentingly terrible weather. The warmth and hospitality was a huge relief, and a home cooked Lancashire hot-pot was a huge bonus. Price was reasonable to say...

Verging on one of the worst experiences of my life. Went to shieldaig with my partner and daughter to walk a couple of munros. We arrived late on the Friday night and the owners were watching tv with a rather drunk outspoken friend, whose language was less than savoury! However we said hello and went to our rooms , only...

He was overbooked but found us a room in the village and looked after us. The food is brilliant and he does what you ask within reason as long a she has the ingredients. A lovely man and his wife has the patience of a saint. It is like being at home so even with the issues we had we...

Rivendell is special for all sorts of reasons - a genuine warm welcome from Tom and Marilyn, a guest house of unique character, a great breakfast, fabulous location, great seafood on offer for dinner, amazing value. Tom squeezed me in despite the fact they were full, because all accommodation in the area was booked. He put up a single bed...

Rivendell is a very friendly and welcoming guest house. Tommy and Marilyn are very nice hosts. The warmth of the coal fire and the views of the beautiful lochs truly compliment this houses attractions - a unique experience.

Absolutely loved this place and Tom/Marilyn are just so helpful. I stayed at end of June with 3 mates as we were there for 4 days for the Celtman Triathlon which took up much of areas accommodation. We had a completely different experience of the place as to past review. You could describe Tom as eccentric but in the absolute...

Myself and five friends stayed here for Celtman (Extreme Triathlon) set in Torridon. It was a perfect base for doing the event. The food was great and a great welcome from Tom and his wife. Nothing seemed too much bother, even getting up at 2-3am to cook us breakfast, as event started at 4am. The food was amazing, don't know...
