Loch Monzievaird Chalets - self catering holiday lodging, is a beautiful Highland estate set in an historic designed landscape. When you come to stay with us, you are surrounded by beauty as our chalets sit on our lovely loch, where geese, swans and may ducks find their home. Don't forget our friendly otter and beaver along with many varieties of wild birds that also find Loch Monzievaird to be the best place to be. Our grounds are protected by Historic Scotland and extend to 40 acres. Across the road from our entrance is a small track that connects into a huge local path network. We are two miles from Crieff, hidden away in a quiet location perfect for either using as a base from which to discover Highland Perthshire or to venture to the east or west coast on days out. We are within driving distance of many major golf courses, including Gleneagles and St. Andrews. Enjoy one of our 5 different styles of lodges that sleep from 4 to 8 persons in a warm and welcoming environment.

Detailed Reviews
Myself and my partner were lucky enough to have had a week away in number number. We loved the location of the chalet as it was high up and looked onto the small car park which was perfect for myself as I like to keep an eye on the car. We felt the value for money was perfect our only negatives were in relation to the outdated cooker which was very difficult to work with to make a decent meal. And the double bed is unsuitable for anyone over 6,4 as the wooden frame limits leg space. But these were small issues when it’s just a relaxing week away.

We stayed here for 5 nights over the half term holidays, the lodge was beautiful and had amazing views over the loch, very clean and even a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival. We had heavy snow mid week and the staff cleared the roads around the lodges and even around the car so we could get out if we needed too. Will definately stay again

I was brought up in Crieff area and have seldom had to book holiday accommodation in the area. Due to Covid-19 however we just needed somewhere to stay and booked the Chalet. Even for someone aware of the area I was so impressed at the beautiful setting and how easy it was to walk into Crieff along lovely wooded paths and tracks. The loch itself was a great hit with children and adults alike. Along with the open space and an excellent fire pit by the loch it allowed a large family to see each other and have really fun week which was very much needed.
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful with a very relaxed atmosphere in the complex. We had lots of young children around, excited to see their cousins. They were able to have plenty of fun without disturbing neighbours (too much). The chalets themselves were clean and well equipped with covered outdoor area and view of loch that I particularly enjoyed.
We just needed somewhere to stay but found so much more. It was definitely an experience that we would all like to repeat.

We have just returned home from a fabulous, relaxing 3 night break at Loch Monzievaird Chalets. Our chalet had everything we could have asked for and it was spotlessly clean. Our chalet had a lovely view of the Loch. We were very impressed with the dedicated, helpful staff. We had some heavy snow during our visit. We were very impressed that the staff cleared the road and also cleared a path at each chalet- very considerate. Well worth a visit.

On the positive side the chalets are in a lovely situation with nice views but that’s about where it ends. Maybe we were unfortunate with the chalet we chose but it was smelly in the bedrooms, the kitchen is tatty and ill equipped for a family & the kitchen cupboards are beyond help! The bathroom was very outdated and basically the whole inside desperately needs modernised and lightened and brightened. The sofas in the lounge area are basically shot and bearing in mind the chalet. sleeps 6 there’s not enough room for six people to actually sit down. Poor lighting outside made the climb up to the chalet perilous in the dark and the stone steps are slippy. I would hate to use the barbecue outside in the summer as essentially it looks like a health hazard and was last washed 10 years ago! When we went for a walk round the loch there is mud everywhere and downed trees that have been there clearly for awhile not just from recent storms! All in all I wouldn’t come back and would visit the Lake District where the quality of pods and chalets are actually 4 star.

Response from Brent Wolff, Owner at Loch Monzievaird Self Catering
Responded 15 Apr 2022
Dear Andrew N, We are sorry your fist Loch Monzievaird experience was not as expected. We strive to exceed guest expectations in cleanliness, hospitality and guest services. Concerning the downed trees and mud, Loch Monzievaird Chalets does not own all the land around the loch. We actively tend to the lochside walk within our grounds, but there is very little we can do about how our neighbours manage their own ground. We are sorry you found your chalet not to your liking. Your booking was for our older chalet which are price accordingly, but we do have several other chalets and lodges along the loch, varying in price depending on their size and level of accommodation, ranging from 3 stars up to 4. If you choose to stay with us again, please give us a call , and we can discuss what level of accommodation you prefer. We have several 4 star chalets that have been newly renovated with a sauna, underfloor heating, and a new kitchen. And please do come in and speak to us at Reception if you find something out of order, and we will do our utmost to correct the situation. Best regards, The Team at Loch Monzievaird Chalets

Just back from here yesterday for a Family trip for mum’s 75th birthday. We had 2 lodges on site, number 5 and 16. We were in 16 and it was a couple mins walk to 5 but we had only booked just a month before so we would have been better also booking the small lodge 15 next to 16 if that had been free but no big issue for us really.
The lodges are well equipped, warm, comfortable and clean. I brought up Prosecco glasses on advice from friends who had been up before us but there were wine glasses and lots of other kitchen items.
The activities on site are great and special thanks to Nathan, Lucy and Harris for the zip line experience which was amazing. There are also great games and sports activities for free and a fabulous walk around the Loch which includes amazing views and even passes a castle ruin, my dog and kids loved it. For rainy days there are also a huge selection of free games, DVDs and even wellies to borrow in the laundry.
We ordered takeaway both nights for dinner. The lovely man at Central Fish Bar brought our order out at nearly 9pm as we were late to order. The Ghurka’s Indian food was delicious the next night.
Overall great value in a beautiful location and staff go above and beyond. Special thanks also to Irene in reception for her friendly advice. Would recommend and return.

A stunning location and views were amazing! A clean (although a bit doggy smelly) well maintained lodge (Chalet 14)
I apologise in advance for my comments but this is a truly beautiful chalet and setting and i don't want it going downhill with the apparent improvements that really aren't making the best of chalet,
Negative points:
Didn't like the mismatched cushions, think granny cleared out her house and put them there!
Didn't like the cheap curtains, although probably practical for washing.
Didn't like the washed out tartan bedding in the bunk room, also the top bunks in the bunk room have the wrong mattresses on them for a top bunk, too high for the safety barrier!
The single chair needs replacing the base cushion keeps sliding down when sitting on it,
The hoover was very smelly when on,
Couldn't get the shower over the bath to stay at a good temperature either too hot or too cold, maybe it was just us!
This chalet could do with a little TLC at not a lot of cost to make it perfect!!!

Had an amazing week for my 50th full of swimming in the Loch and cycling. Combrie Croft was great fun and we did some mad routes on full suspension e-bikes. Straight across the road from the entrance is a fab walking and cycling path that is well sign posted for great walks. The lodge initially gave a 1980s vibe and then you realised it was a quality solid cabin. We loved the sauna too. Cooked all sorts, lots of kitchen stuff, very good for recycling. Loved the loch for swimming, the only thing we missed missed out on was seeing the beavers, lots of signs of beaver activity though. The walk around the loch was lovely. I would certainly come back.

This is a beautiful and relaxing location. The private chateau accommodations were warm, cozy and clean. The staff were marvelous, welcoming people who care for you, your experience and their facility. This is a great, central location for exploring the Highlands, day trips, and hiking.

Hi, fishing on the loch is for residents only. There is a fishery at Orchill Loch near Braco, approximately 10 miles from Crieff
Hope this helps you.
I would imagine Amy would know the answer, she may know someone in Creiff that would 'dog' sit. Sorry l cant help you.
We visited the nearby animal park, which was brilliant, for children, and the lovliest cafe with home made food, childrens lunch boxs which the staff make the sandwichs, not far from our holiday chalet. indoor and outdoor play areas, picnic areas, gift shop, and immaculate toilets.
