The Murraypark Hotel garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and cozy, well-furnished rooms, though a few guests note they can be on the snug or outdated side. Its friendly staff and relaxed ambiance contribute to a welcoming vibe, enhanced by dog-friendly policies.
While the majority of guests appreciate the value and the array of amenities, including in-room conveniences, an occasional mention of service hiccups and a disappointing meal arise. Nonetheless, its enviable location offering both tranquility and proximity to local attractions cements its status as a favored choice among travelers.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Murray Park for one night when visiting family in Crieff as their sister hotel Crieff Hydro would not accept bookings for less than two nights.
We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and check in was quick and efficient.
As this is an old building it does not have a lift and there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms. The staff did offer to help carry suitcases up to our first floor room
The room was very spacious and nicely furnished and contained not only a mini fridge but also a Nespresso type coffee maker and a selection of very good coffee.
There was ample hanging and drawer space should we have wished to unpacked.
The bathroom was spotless with a large bath and over bath rain shower which was a joy to use as there was ample hot water at good pressure. There was a good supply of quality toiletries
We had breakfast on the morning of our departure which was not slickest of service. We had to wait for almost five minutes before anyone emerged from the kitchen to seat us. Breakfast was a combination of buffet for cereals, fruit and pastries and order from the menu for cooked items, drinks and toast. Coffee and toast was brought to the table immediately after we were seated
The menu was extensive but the cereals on offer bore no relation to those on the buffet and the only yogurt available was toffee flavoured. Not the ideal complement for the delicious fruit compote. The order for cooked items was taken literally, bacon, sausage and two fried eggs produced one small rasher of bacon, one sausage and the requested two eggs all looking rather forlorn on a large plate.
There is a large, free to use, carpark which unfortunately is not surfaced and becomes very muddy when it rains.
I have only awarded the hotel four stars due to the poor car park, lack of a lift and air conditioning. The nuances of the breakfast service we could accept as the hotel was still recovering from the impact of lock down.

Having stayed at Crieff Hydro many times over the years since my son was just 3 months old ( he is now nearly 18 ! ) we decided to try the Murraypark after having a nice meal there on a previous Hydro stay.We booked a family room and l was really pleasantly surprised at how well appointed it was. Really liked the fact that there was a fridge, fresh milk and cookies. It made it feel a little bit extra special. The cooked breakfasts were good although the contential breakfast was a bit limited. However all the staff were absolutely lovely and would go the extra mile. We were offered coffee whilst waiting to go out and provided with a glass of prosecco on hearing it was my husbands birthday. These are really nice touchs and definitely make a place stand out. In addition a very quiet and peaceful location and a high standard of housekeeping means l would definitely recommend this sweet wee hotel and the hardworking staff. Well done !!

Excellent hotel, very Christmassy and cosy sitting by the fire in the bar after our meal at night.
Had a great selection of food, especially breakfast as my 4 year old Granddaughter loved the buffet.
Hotel spotless, bath robes, coffee maker and Smeg fridges in rooms
Staff very friendly
Great location to visit sister hotel Crieff Hydro with lots of entertainment going on.

Booked this hotel as a special break for my husband's 65th birthday for the family with our dogs. Three weeks ago my daughter broke her leg so I called and explained the situation, she is using a wheelchair and I wanted to make sure the bedroom would be accessible. I was reassured that all rooms were accessible by lift. When we arrived we were told our three bedrooms were on the lower ground floor, down one flight of stairs. We explained this was not possible and were told that we should have informed them. I explained that I did but was interrogated about who I spoke to and told that it wasn't their fault as they didn't know our situation and if I didn't know who I had spoken to then they couldn't investigate. We were then given a room on the ground floor and I understand that it wasn't ready for us but the little touches like milk in the fridge and cookies were missing and we had to move my daughter out while the bed was split into twins. I appreciate this being done but it would have been nice to have been asked when it would have suited us. We ate at the hotel both evenings and the food was not great. I ordered steak pie but the gravy was just like water and the sweet potato fries were cold, for the price I would have expected more. There was a large breakfast menu but on both days we didn't get what we ordered and we weren't asked if we wanted more toast or tea. There were plenty of staff but the tables weren't cleared and it was difficult to attract anyone's attention. When checking out I mentioned the issue with the room again but was told that it wasn't the hotels fault and that I should have made sure that I had spoken to the hotel. I wasn't aware that I wasn't speaking to the hotel! Other little issues were a missing remote control, coffee machine not working in one room, towel rail not switched on (turned out it was a little button underneath one of the legs), only one room was set up for the dogs (we had requested two dog rooms). I am not normally a picky person but I chose this hotel as it had great reviews and wanted a really nice family break for a special occasion but it was spoiled by all the issues and the reaction of the staff. There was only one waiter in the evening who made us feel welcome. From check in to check out I was made to feel like a nuisance. Would not recommend.

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on your stay joannegV6242UK. We have noted your comments regarding the problems that you experienced and it made for some difficult reading. We pride ourselves in offering first class customer care and sincerely apologies this wasn't your experience. Sadly it does appear that there was a communication breakdown and we were not aware of the need for ground floor accommodation, although I do believe the team tried to rectify this as soon as possible for you. Its not clear if you spoke to anyone about the missing remote control, coffee machine and towel rail needing switched on? This could have been rectified quickly. I'm also sorry that you didn't enjoy your dining experience with us, again had we known the steak pie wasn't to your liking we could have offered you an alternative. We do appreciate the feedback and hope that you we will give us the opportunity to restore your faith in us in the future.

We were very lucky to be able to spend Hogmanay at the Murray Park Hotel and celebrations at the Crieff Hydro into the bells. It was a fairly last minute booking. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend- a true Scottish traditional event -we have stayed here many times over the years and have always feel we are returning to familiar ground. However this was the first Hogmanay stay.
I enjoyed the Victorian Spa (£20) and we had our delicious evening meal at the Murray Park which was a subdued affair probably compared to the extravagant Gala dinner at the hydro however this was exactly what we wanted.
We had a very comfortable room and we brought our dog with us and are grateful to the Murray Park for accommodating pets ( £20 supplement)
We hope to be able to return in the near future - these 2 Hotels know exactly what is meant by great customer service and there are plenty of activities to choose from.

I had my 80th Birthday Lunch with other members of my family (14 Adults, 2 children under 5 and a baby.
Every one was well catered for, a room for Mum to feed her baby, 2 children ate up everything the were given, and the Adults had a most enjoyable meal, of their choice.
The staff were extremely helpfull, very courteous and looked after us well.
We would certainly go back, but only after the coronavirus had died a death!

A lot better than your average 3 star hotel. Service, Breakfast, Accommodation all very good. I suspect the only reason they are not a 4 star is the rooms which are on the small side, although the bathroom was large and well appointed. Also there is no lift, another reason I guess for not having a higher rating. Otherwise no complaints at all, in fact I would commend the hotel for having loads of plug sockets in the room which meant no "fighting" over things like phone charging.

We stayed 3 nights at Crieff Hydro, booked a meal at the Murray Park hotel for a change of scenery and wanted to see what like it was. We (My wife, teo children and mother in law) were greeted by very friendly staff & our orders were promptly taken. Both my wife and I had the steak which turned out to be nicer than the one she had the previous night apparently. We all really enjoyed the food and service to the extent we booked a meal the following night (tonight). Very much looking forward to the cozy atmosphere and pleasant staff. Each meal was most enjoyed by everyone and would highly recommend it. I think we will book to stay here for our accommodation also next time.

+1
Just home after 2 nights at this lovely and friendly hotel. We were given room 13, a family room, so plenty of space. Bed was very comfortable, slept well, plus not many other guests, so quiet too. Due to the current situation no toiletries were provided or water in the fridge. Scotland has the best water in Britain so tap was fine with us. Tomasz , very nice young man on reception, offered us shower gel and shampoo so no problem there.
Both nights we ate in the cosy bar beside the lovely log fire.
Food was lovely and plentiful. Managed a dessert second night by foregoing the starters. Both nights our servers Kerina and Allanah were lovely and attentive
Only let down was not being able to enjoy pre-dinner drinks, alcohol only allowed with our meals. Nothing to do with the hotel of course.
Breakfasts were good too. Having read previous reviews however we missed out on different breads and pastries as no buffets allowed either. Both days the cooked breakfast was lovely and arrived promptly.
All in all we would highly recommend this lovely hotel as opposed to the Hydro, if you're looking for a quiet break.
Crieff High Street has some nice shops. Lovely chocolates, fudge and tablet plus traditional Scottish fare in various places near James Square in the centre of town.
Thanks Murraypark, sure we'll be back sometime.x

Just returned from a 3 day break and wasn’t disappointed.
From the front desk ,with Alicia in charge ,to the restaurant staff ,bar staff we were looked after excellently.
The rooms were very comfortable with the normal hot drink facilities but with an added bonus of 2 cookies and fresh milk in the fridge .
Only downside to the room was in the bathroom ,sadly the toilet was very low and we struggled to get on / off .Reminded us of being back in primary school.
Breakfast was really tasty and plentiful.Only thing that was missing was Marmalade to put on the toast .
Dinner menu was very good and yet again food very tasty.
Plenty of car parking facilities.
Nice friendly bar for the evenings refreshments.
That good ,we are planning to return in the near future.

A supplemental had to be paid on certain choices
Yes we had room 9 it was very spacious with plenty of room for our working cockers travelling cage. We ate in the bar and the service in there was just as good as in the restaurant. One evening there was three dogs in it.
Yes I can agree with the last comment, although it does depend on how fit you are!! 10 minutes at the very most, also if you are visiting the Hydro in the evening, maybe to go to the cinema there is a courtesy taxi ride home, just book it at reception when you go in.
Hi ScotlandW,
Thanks for your enquiry. All the rooms at The Murraypark are dog friendly. However, if you let the sales team know, when booking, we can arrange to have your room deep cleaned before your arrival. If we can be of any further help please just let us know
