We had a great weekend stay! Staff excellent, hard working and attentive! We had a fantastic meal on second night. Room perfectly adequate for our stay, maybe a little tired however this didn’t spoil our stay. Sockets in room seem to be European for some reason however there is one normal socket so not a major issue!
Great resort, good facilities and a warm welcome. Ideal for a family holiday, grandchildren really enjoyed it. Plenty of outdoor adventures nearby including walks, hill climbs and water sports. Good tearooms and restaurants in the area.
I don’t do bad reviews but I am trying warning here for safety and misinformation you may have given. We have been booked this place for October holiday for 2 nights, very last minute so we have been aware of dated decor and a bit overpriced. We choose this resort because of pool for a kids, there is no information about limited access, you will find out about it when you paid and this place is not refundable. So when we arrived we find out we need to book a pool because is limited access during covid period, was all full this day and next. I understand that perfectly so I set up alarm on 7 am next day so we could book a pool on third day, which we manage, be aware system let you book a place only for min 4 people, so if someone has one child you can’t book at all. Well, on the pool suppose to be 16 people was 30, because no one is controlling access. If you have own towel is not a problem just walk in. Towels are available on reception and when is no queue is no one there and definitely no one will pick up your phone, believe me we tried multiple times, we had to walk there every time. Also when we have arrived I was aware to put deposit 100 pounds for eventually extra cost, on the bill was 250 pounds, was returned during two days of stay, but it is not information about that before. We luckly didn’t destroy anything, even fixed sliding door at bedroom. Hook on bathroom is hanging and will fell off any minute, microwave is rusty inside, should be throw away even if still working and tv is smurfs size, some dishes I had to wash before use it. When we arrive there was no heating on or water, we had to turn on that ourself and there is a while when water will heat up. My kids had sofa bed, we had to cover pillows and duvet ourselves and bedding has wrong size. Our bedroom had twin beds which we had information will be double bed. We manage to book dinner at restaurant at Monday, food was good and service as well. But next day at 4pm was fully booked and no take away possible already. We have been spend all afternoon looking something available with no success so we end up with own cooking at cottage, ok but if we had room at hotel we could have only option from kebab take away with bad reviews. Breakfast we manage to book twice, was nice but during covid rules there was no rules, was buffet and everyone was touching everything. Little things are adds up and make a stay struggling. Only I can say positively is location, nice walk to town.…
Second visit to Moness in 3 months. Had a fantastic time immaculate 3 bed room cottage very comfortable. Staff as usual very helpful and hard working. Visited the Spa and the swimming pool this was lovely and lots of families having a great time. Food was great. Location is outstanding and the birks of Aberfeldy walk was spectacular . Thank you Moness for another great break. Hope to be back soon. Suggest a visit to the 3 Lemons, Watermill and the Italian restaurant all great.
Having read some of the recent reviews we were worried in the days leading up to our stay at Moness, however we needn’t have been concerned at all. We stayed in a two bed dog friendly cottage which was very satisfactory and cosy. During our stay we had both a takeaway from, and ate in, the restaurant. On both occasions the food was excellent with good service. The resort staff were friendly and helpful. Didn’t use the swimming pool so can’t comment on that but enjoyed the fabulous Perthshire countryside and nice shops in aberfeldy and surrounding area.
