My partner booked the hotel for one night only - once I read the reviews I was thankful it was only one night - but decided to be fair and find out for myself. Yes, the Hotel is a wonderful old building in an ideal location but certainly needs rejuvination to attract more people. The decor is rather dark, tired...

Location fabulous pity about the hotel, it has certainly seen better days. needs some TLC. we stayed room 112 paper peeling off walls, had apparently paid extra for sea view but this was obscured by the amount of seagull mess on the window...disgusting. the new carpet in the room did not make up for the chipped furniture the marked sheets...

As a person who regularly stays in chain hotels, whilst on business trips, I have found the Stotfield Hotel to be a refreshing change. The friendly staff provide great service, the food has consistently been of a very high standard and the old world charm of the hotel has provided a quite unique experience. I'm looking forward to staying here...

Having booked (and prepaid) several months in advance, on 2 June we were shown to two rooms, 113 and 114 which I can only describe as disgusting, in poor condition. The cupboard sized bathroom has a badly fitted shower cubicle with large holes around the shower tray, dirty bit of floor covering and discoloured shower curtain. Worst of all was...

The hotel, although dated and in of some refurbishment provides everything you need for a relaxing and well looked after stay. The staff are amazingly friendly and the food was excellent. Easy local walks along the beach and a very quiet setting made for a fantastic few days away. Thank you.

Went to Lossiemouth for my husbands 70th birthday and where we first met. We had a most wonderful time travelling in Scotland, the highlight being Lossiemouth where we met (unrecognisable) old friends. The scenery was superb, our room overlooking the golf course, Covesea lighthouse. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel even though there were no lifts, however there was members...

This used to be the best hotel in Lossie! Now it's a run down shack. From the moment I walked through the door when I was told my payment had been declined, when I had already prepaid, to leaving a day early it was a horror story. Room was shabby, no nets/blinds on the windows, as I was overlooked on...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
