Corinne, myself & the Wee Westie popped into The Lochranza Hotel after exploring the local castle. We were made welcome, served very good coffees & sandwiches at reasonable prices. The food was filling if unadventurous and we left satisfied. A more ambitious menu would have tempted us back to this warm & welcoming small hotel. Oh, wifi is free, a...

First time I have stayed at this nice quiet hotel. The room we had had a great view over the Inlet and over to the mainland. The staff were excellent, friendly and happy to help. The food was nice and homely the bar is extremely well stocked with hundreds of malt whiskies and seems to be a hub of the...

Called in here for lunch. Friendly welcome and although not an extensive or particularly imaginative menu, we had soup and a toastie and it was fine. Great location and had it not been raining, it would have been lovely to sit out overlooking the sea.

Great location, but the hotel and rooms seem to need to be refurbished our family room was adequate albeit with quite dated decor. It was a bit strange to have a room without a Windows but instead had two skylights that meant the room was very light very early in the morning. We decided to give the hotel a miss...

My wife and I arrived after the long walk from Sannox. Our reception could not be described as warm or welcoming. Our accommodation had been arranged by the Coastal Walk organiser who had travelled ahead and deposited our bags. The lady who received us rather gruffly mentioned that she was glad they were our bags as they didn't know who...

Stayed a Wednesday night, on a walk from Brodick. Arrived very tired the staff could not have been more helpful. The room was nice with views over the bay, shower room a bit cramped but Hey it was only one night so no complaints. Good honest food in the bar and a few drinks with my wife and daughter. I would...

Helpful staff , good meals , comfortable rooms , requires a bit of TLC , great location but passed some hotels on the south of the island which looked much better , this place could make a killing it was also our most expensive hotel stay at £107 .

It is disappointing to write this as the staff were so helpful. However, like other visitors who have written on this site, we found the Lochranza Hotel a disappointment. Another reviewer used the word tired. most appropriate. The hotel has a striking presence in a stunning location. The garden area, with picnic table seating, is eye- catching on arrival, even...

Stayed one night on my way to Islay. Though this hotel has a stunning location, it felt tired and needed updating. Bedroom adequate, but bedding poor. The quilt & pillows were old & not very comfortable. Selection for breakfast was very poor. Only grapefruit segments or a ripe banana, orange juice or cereal, no yogurts plus cooked breakfast available.

We were staying locally at The Butt b&b and needed somewhere to have dinner. Alistair of the b&b suggested the Lochranza Hotel as the restaurant was full and it was the only place within walking distance. Not great on decor but as a basic pub it was fine. Service was perfect, the good pub food served was delicious. The Tennents...
