Stayed at peacock cottage and was a bit disappointed really - dead flies on the windowsill, dirty teapot, no loo roll, broken toaster - our 'garden' was a tiny paved area at the back of the cottage with a sad looking plastic table and chairs - the 'welcome' literature comprised mainly of what you can't do - no balls games... This is a complete fairy tale. When her husband checked out at the end of the week, he told us the toaster didn’t work, so we went immediately to replace it with a brand new one. There was no need. It did work, they just hadn’t switched it on at the socket on the wall! The people in the cottage... More

We stayed for 4 nights at this beautiful country house in September 2010. We stayed in the lovely Smithy cottage in the stable courtyard. The garden and grounds are very nice we enjoyed watching the peacocks. What can I say about breakfast, we are well travelled and this must be the best cooked breakfast ever. We also had an outstanding... More

Lovely hotel, good service and good food. It is well located on the outskirts of Brodick, making for a great base from which to explore Arran.

We have stayed at this wonderful hotel a few times in the past. We now live close by and have no need to stay but celebrate our wedding anniversary with a meal here every year. I cannot praise it high enough. The ambiance and relaxing atmosphere set the mood and then the meal which is always outstanding. Don't come here... More

So what you're really saying is that you love Kilmichael so much, you had to move to Arran to be here more often! Seriously, though, we 're thrilled with your very positive review and hope you will come back to see us soon. More

Yet again not disappointed. Just the most unique and wonderful place. Fool is fantastic. My only critism is that there is so much of it. The owners and staff are so attentive and nothing is too much bother. The peacocks, geese and colourful hens add to the atmosphere.

The combination of a gracious welcome, comfort, elegance, attention to detail and Arran is irresistible. Thank you for listening to my request for small portions, you are the first hotel to come up trumps and we have travelled widely. My alternative starter to mussels was very welcome. All in all we were made to feel more like house guests than... More

Kilmichael Hotel is the result of a lot of attention to detail, from the little flask of local whiskey in the room to the quality of service throughout. Combined with its tranquil setting, if it were not for the amazing scenery on the island it would be tempting to pass whole days in Kilmichael. Cooking is done by one of... More
