We spent three nights at the Douglas with our daughter and son in law for a new year's break. We stayed in rooms on the second floor and were very happy with the size of the room, bathroom and bed. However, although we are loathed to complain about this lovely hotel we would like to highlight areas that require improvement...

5 of us stayed here 2 nights in November, We did not book beforehand, so just turned up after coming of the ferry. My room was on the ground floor which had a walk out patio, which suited me as could smoke outside, and i will not use lifts!! The room had a super king size bed with loads of...

Beautiful old building with interesting decor. Had a great few nights. Food was delicious but due to misunderstanding on our part we didn't realise that the vouchers in the deal for dinner didn't include alcohol or coffee. Not a big issue but might have chosen the chateabriand for dinner! Well located in Brodick.

On my days off I like to get away from the hotel I work in. I always use the Douglas because it is near for me to walk to. You can either eat in the bistro or in the bar. The bistro menu is available in the bar as well. I always have a ribeye steak, medium rare with chips. Fantastic...

A very easy hotel to find, close to the ferry terminal at Brodick. Pretty outside, with sufficient parking. Based on four of us staying in separate rooms, all the rooms are huge and comfortable with equally big bathrooms. I got an amazing view across to Brodick Castle and Goatfell. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the bistro...

We were in the bar at the Douglas Hotel, Brodick, Arran which was quiet and were having such a laugh with friends we had met. We were not causing any bother at all, we were all staying in the hotel. Our friend went to the bar to order more drinks on the evening of Friday 25th of November and he...

I decided to stay for an extra night on Arran and booked in at the Douglas. A very good choice! I was told my room was the smallest in the hotel, but it was probably the biggest room I've ever stayed in. The bathroom was so big it could've fitted a sauna, too. The room was beautifully set - and...

My partner and I decided to book an overnight trip to Arran. After being recommended by my colleagues we decided to book the Douglas Hotel. We cannot fault this hotel in any way. From check in to check out the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was immaculately clean and we were even upgraded to an executive...
