My father booked us into this Tavern when we came to Fife to see him. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. The room was a little small but this is a Tavern. The food was first class, I would certainly recommend the Abroath Pate as a starter. Being boring, I choose another steak for the main course;...

We have used this restaurant over a number of years but it has improved dramatically in recent times, the food is first class only matched by the professional service, for a small country hotel this is a treat.

We are moving to this area so thought we would try out the hotel restaurant. We have been twice. Staff friendly. Good food at reasonable prices. One of our visits was for high tea on a Sunday. Excellent value and very nice cakes! It got very busy though so I recommend booking. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch here this week. We had no knowledge of this Hotel and just happened upon it while touring this part of Fife, from the outside it did not look at all outstanding and indeed the interior decor was very dark. The restaurant staff were very attentive and professional but the quality of the...

Stayed overnight last weekend while visiting friends. A warm welcome, lovely staff, immaculate room, great breakfast, what is there not to like? Have dined in the restaurant previously and the food, wine and service were all first rate. Staff work hard to make this a quality venue and are succeeding. Good luck and thanks guys!

We visited the restaurant last Saturday evening, our third trip since finding this gem back in November. On this occasion, we had a 10-month-old baby in tow, and were a bit concerned about how well he would behave. Well, he was ok ... but the Meldrum's staff were absolutely fantastic, each and every one of them, so the adults were...

Had been to this restaurant a couple of years ago but not been back since new owners took over. Both had the steak and mushroom pie with parsnips, carrots and double cooked chips. All very tasty and good helpings. Had scones, cakes and coffe to finish. Lovely main course, but probably should have asked for just mains, as scones/cakes were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled alongside the Ceres Burn, Meldrums Hotel is a mid-19th century coaching inn that marries Iberian cuisine with the rustic charm of Scottish hospitality. Our passion is great food and great service. We believe that each and every guest deserves only the best from the moment that they arrive: a warm welcome from our staff; a pre-supper cocktail - using the best ingredients and perfectly-mixed; the finest cuts of meat and seasonal produce cooked to perfection; attentive, yet discreet, service; and rustic surroundings from which to watch the world pass by. Our suite of rooms are a home away from home and are ideal for those wishing to absorb the culture and history of Edinburgh and St Andrews or to escape to the wilds of the Highlands. Our menus are eclectic. We source our ingredients from local farmers and merchants and complement them with the finest imported cheeses, meats - including the Pata Negra - and spices. Our dishes embody the very best of Iberian cuisine. ... more   less
