Very happy to recommend this place. I took my elderly parents for lunch. Dad has dementia and there's a dog to accommodate so finding good places can be difficult. The staff here were just lovely, friendly & helpful & attentive without being overbearing. Lots of help offered to Dad. The food was spot on. I had lamb, the folks had...

Dropped in for a pint. Been before. Excellent well kept real ale. Variety - hoppy and dark - but not too many on so beer obviously moving, fresh and well kept. Warm (metaphoric and on a cold day literal!) atmosphere. Mind blowing pies on sale too. So good went to the local East Linton butchers just round the corner to...

Just back from spending 2 nights here. As soon as we walked in Ann was very helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and cosy. We ate in the restaurant both nights and couldn't resist the 10 oz Fillet Steak cooked to perfection. Great friendly Staff and compliments to Pat, Ann, Louise and the rest of the team who made us...

Four of us stayed at Overhailes Farm Cotagges (also excellent) for the weekend visiting the area as we were going to the England v Scotland RBS Six Nations game. We ate at The Linton on the Friday evening in the bar, the service and food was good, as was the beer, all our group thought everything was great. In fact...

4 of us dined there, the upstairs restaurant is very nice and staff excellent. We all had starters, 3 had steaks for main and one had fish - good size portions well presented and we all enjoyed our meals. Wine was excellent at £15 a bottle, a few drinks in the lounge afterwards - all in all a great night...

Brought in the New Year with the management, staff and many others at the Linton this year. Fabulous night and I would highly recommend you join the party next year. Thanks to those who worked hard to make it a great night - and to the fantastic musicians who provided the entertainment! 5* guys, we'll be back!

Staying locally and booked for my wedding anniversary of 28/12. Really fancy a steak after eating turkey for a week. The Linton restaurant markets itself has a steak house. It was more a 70ish restaurant set up with a few steaks in the menu. The menu was presented in a dirty heavyweight leatherback folder. My wife's starter was a deep...

Lovely hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff from the minute we walked in. A small hotel with lots of character and pleasant surroundings. Public bar has a warm friendly feel to it and enjoyed chatting with the locals. Whilst here make sure you stay for dinner, tasty food and great value. All staff made sure our two night stay...

We often visit The Linton for some of their fine ale - which is always smooth and tasty! We recently decided to try out there refurbished restaurant, which Pat (the new owner) now sells locally acquired steak, and other produce. We were not disappointed, one sirloin, one ribeye - both delicious, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by equally scrumptious home cut...
